They’re both good, but I think they’re too similar. Maybe one of them could draw, fetch, recur or reveal cards, representing the ravens gathering news for the dwarves.

Also, my version of Roac is pretty similar, but never mind, I think we’ll get over it.

Dáin’s DC Duos #204

It’s taken a while, but I’m starting to come around to followers. I liked the potential they had at first, then disliked most of the ones Decipher actually made, then started to like some of them, then found myself defending them when follower hate started cropping up as solidly as I had defended allies when they were phased out. So I guess I’m pro-follower now. Very Happy

Oh, which brings me back to the Duos. Here’s my first couple DC followers. Well, actually, it’s just ONE follower, but two different versions of him. You’ll see what I mean...just read. Razz And enjoy!

Not bad... I might raise the initial cost to 3.

Yeah, too similar to the first. Fetching or revealing would be cool.

I actually like them similar. The strength and resistance bonuses are switched, and one works on Dwarven and Gandalf companions. Maybe raise both costs to 3, though.

Well, I’d prefer to leave Roäc as he is; I know they’re similar, and I did that on purpose. I’ll raise the cost of each to 3, though. Thanks for the reviews!

Dáin’s DC Duos #205-206

Here’s the other Dwarven followers, as well as a bonus Duo of two new Gandalf followers I made to go along with the Dwarven ones. There are, again, some similarities between these, so let me know what you think about that. And as always, enjoy! Smile

Aid – Discard a Dwarven card from hand or from play.
Each time you transfer this to a companion, except a Dwarven companion, exert bearer.
Each time bearer wins a skirmish, you may choose one: draw a card; or if the top card of your discard pile is a Dwarven card, take it into hand.

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!

Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North!

Totally awesome card DI!

Cool, but +2 str is bit powerful as well as the resitance and great game text.

Again similar to the other so very cool, but +2 seems a lot of str.

Finishes off a sweet set of cards in a theme. Good job Dain.

Now that stuff has excellent similarities, it feels like a cycle. I feel better about Roac now.
They’re all cool (interesting aid costs) but, unless you’re planning on changing the rules, as far as I know, currently discard piles have no order, so one of the abilities of each Great Raven and Old Thrush doesn’t make any sense.

A good splash; too good, since there is no exertion for a non-Dwarf. I would make the aid be 1 and discard a Dwarven card from hand.

Same as the last; make the aid include discarding a Gandalf card from hand.

Well, rather than post synonyms of the phrase "very good" after a bunch of quotes, I’ll say it for all of them at once.

And I like how each are paired. GP once I can.
