Added a limit of being able to exert each Dwarf only once. Good now? |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Maneuver: If the fellowship is at an underground site, exert a Dwarf to reveal the top card of your draw deck or draw a card. You may exert each Dwarf in this way only once each turn.
Regroup: If the fellowship is at a mountain or underground site, exert a Dwarf and discard this condition to play the fellowship’s next site.

We’re running late getting our first anniversay’s trip underway, so YOU reap the benefits with a couple new Dwarves of Moria. Enjoy these until I’m back on Monday!
•Balin, Lord of Moria
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Signet: Thorin
Damage +1. Hunter 1.
Each underground site’s Shadow number is -1.
While at a mountain or underground site, Balin is strength +1 for each other Dwarf you can spot (limit +3).
“‘At last, however, Balin listened to the whispers, and resolved to go....’”
•Ori, Dwarven Scribe
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Signet: Thorin
To play, spot a Dwarf.
While at an underground site or while you can spot a Orc, Ori gains hunter 1.
Fellowship: Exert Ori to play a tale from your draw deck (or exert him and spot an Elf to play an tale from your draw deck).
“‘He could write well and speedily, and often used the Elvish characters.’” |

I think there’s far too much going on there, though all the abilities are really cool. Firstly, I’d make the last ability only underground, then take out the shadow number text (or the twilight text: after all, dwarves already have Dain Ironfoot, King UNder the mountain) and the hunter bonus, and raise the third ability’s limit to 4 or 5.

Personally, I think you should choose either an underground site or a Orc and raise the boost to +2. Nice job on the tale text, though.

Made tweaks to both. I’d rather not boost Ori too much, since I didn’t intend for him to be a great fighter.
Thanks, guys. More cards tomorrow. |

Okay, time for some unusual cards. Enjoy!
•Barred Gates
Condition • Support Area
Fortification. To play, spot a Dwarf and a companion of another race.
When you play this condition, place a token here for each Dwarf you can spot.
Skirmish: Discard this condition or remove a token from here to make a minion strength -1 (or -2 if that minion is an Orc).
“‘Slam the doors and wedge them!’”
•Doors of the West-gate
Artifact • Support Area
Riddle.
To play, exert a Dwarf (or spot a Dwarf and an Elf).
At the start of each turn, you may examine the top card of your draw deck.
Response: If a Shadow card is about to decrease the move limit, spot a Dwarf and exert either a Wizard or a Hobbit to prevent that.
“‘Ennyn Durin Aran Moria. Pedo Mellon a Minno. Im Narvi hain echant. Celebrimbor o Eregion teithant. I thiw hin.’” |
