Okay, since I got the votes I needed, I can declare winners. Especially since there was a large enough margin that an upset within an hour seemed pretty unlikely.

THE GRAND FINALE
Saving the best for last. YOUR MECHANIC IS....
*drum roll*
RESOURCES!
That’s right. In the format of threats and initiative, a WHOLE NEW GROUNDBREAKING MECHANIC blasts onto the world of LotR! The mechanic? Resources!
What are resources?
Resources are kept track of as tokens in your support area. They are treated like tokens, being a resource of a particular culture (i.e.:  ,  ,  ,  , etc).
At the start of the game, the culture with the LARGEST number of companions in the starting fellowship gets ONE resource. That’s it. If you have the SAME number of companions in the starting fellowship, you get a GENERAL resource, which can be used like ANY resource for ANY culture.
What you do with the resources is up to you. I envisioned some sort of "uber-twilight" scenario with resources being added/removed by cards and an ability to use these resources to gain access to ultra powerful cards. Under that scenario, resource adding is VERY guarded and cards costing resources are VERY powerful. In essence, resources open a whole new level of LotR playing.
HOWEVER, that is simply my envisionment. You can do whatever you want with them.
Each contestant will submit from 6-8 DCs utilizing resources as a strategy. However, there is a cultural restriction to the resources.
lem0nhead- You may choose an of the following to design resource cards for.
   OR a generic resource that works in a rainbow-style fellowship/shadow.
LeoKula- You may choose any of the following to design resource cards for.
    OR a generic resource that works in a rainbow-style fellowship/shadow.
Keep in mind that if either of you tackle the rainbow strategy, you may use resources specific for a particular culture, or not.
(Note: Cultures are determined randomly)
AND FINALLY, an added ability. Although MtG is inferior to LotR, there is one mechanic that I like.  . You may, if you choose, use tapping in your cards. I know that you may think this is blasphemy, thus, I leave it up to you. It is not mandated. But, if you wish, you may create cards that tap and untap to produce certain effects. There is one string attached to this, a tapped card has a blank text unless that card specifies that it can be active while the card is tapped, or is regarding untapping (For example: Fellowship: Add  to untap this card.)
Yeah, this is a blowout. IN SHORT, you’re assignment is:
Create 5-7 cards utilizing resources and, IF YOU CHOOSE, . The cards must be of the cultures as specified before.
