For the record i dislike the idea intensely but that shouldnt come as as a surprise to you Thran as you know youre always doing new crazy things Decipher wouldnt have done in a million years, and im sorry but im a Decipher format fan! They knew what worked and was good which is why theyd never attempt this sort of thing.
 Lesser Ring /
Artifact • Ring
Str: +1
Res: -1
Bearer must be a unique character.
Dain’s right better for shadow useless for elves.
 Ring of Power /
Artifact • Ring
Str: +1
Res: -2
To play, spot a or card.
Bearer must be a unique character.
Each time bearer is about to take a wound in a skirmish, his or her owner may discard the top 3 cards of their draw deck to prevent that wound.
Ditto comment above but ability is fine if a little punishing, i wouldnt opt for this ring in a deck.
 • The Master Ring
Artifact • Ring
Legendary.
To play, spot 2 cards.
Plays to your support area.
Assignment: Assign a character (except the Ring-bearer) bearing a ring to another character (except the Ring-bearer). The Free Peoples player may add a burden to prevent this and assign those characters.
Response: If the Ring-bearer puts on The One Ring, discard this artifact to add a burden.
Crazy! And if you cant discard artifacts youre knackered! Shouod at least exert the shadow character to assign it.

Another controversial batch. Would you rather me criticise endlessly or not review them Thran? I dont mind which! |

I always want to hear your opinion. And this whole set is going to be controversial and there’s little or nothing anyone can do about it! Something like this has never been tried before - this whole set takes place before the One Ring was in the hands of any of the Free Peoples, after all.
Bear in mind that a set like this needs controversy and weird strategies, and criticise as much as you like!

See, this is why I don’t go too nuts with new strategies and such in my sets. "K.I.S.S." is often the best strategy. |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

I’d rather be controversial any day!
In fact, it gets far worse than those rings you’ve just seen...

The K.I.S.S. principle? Look it up on Google, lem0n.
Thran, you’re going to make poor lem0n’s head explode. Juicy bits everywhere.... |

While we appear to be on this little detour into Shadow, here’s a probably less weird card, though it does support the rings above:
• Sauron, The Deceiver
Minion • Maia
Str: 8
Vit: 4
Sit: 2
Enduring 1.
When you play Sauron, you may play a ring from your draw deck.
While in region 1, Sauron cannot be assigned to a skirmish.
Each companion bearing a ring is strength -2 and cannot be assigned to skirmish Sauron.
But Sauron gathered into his hands all the remaining Rings of Power; and he dealt them out to the other peoples of Middle-earth, hoping thus to bring under his sway all those that desired secret power beyond the measure of their kind.

Erm if this wasnt sauron he’s a cool minion but 8 strength for sauron? How weak was he before he forged the one ring? Lesser than an morgul skirmisher? Seriously?
Whats with the region thing? |

He’s just not supposed to be much of a fighter. He doesn’t go to war until half way through the Second Age (hence the region thing), and have no fear, there will be many versions of Sauron to come, some of which will be seriously nasty. This one is more of a manipulator behind the scenes.
