Done. Thanks again!
I may or may not be done with spells...not sure yet. But I’ve been dying to post this one, so here it is. Enjoy!

To play, spot 3 cards (or a Wizard companion) in the discard pile.
At the start of each turn, you may remove 2 cards in your discard pile from the game to take a spell into hand from your draw deck.
Regroup: Discard this condition to take a spell into hand from your discard pile.

I didn’t see it was each wounded minion. stil cut the cost by 1, or just cut 1 exert. with rolled like thunder, you don’t have to exert for it + it can replay your conditions. i was wrong about the first one(hey I was tired ) but I hold ot my second review

I would just remove the parts that reference the dead pile, and then it’d be cool.

Alright, SoP, you win. I kept the cost of Voice Like Thunder at , but I got rid of the exertion. I also made recommended changes to Finest Rockets Ever Seen. Thanks for the reviews, all!
Okay, time for a couple more tales. Enjoy!
•Wandering Conjuror
Condition • Support Area
Tale. To play, spot a Wizard.
Each time you play a spell (except during a skirmish), you may heal an unbound Hobbit.
Each time the fellowship moves during the regroup phase or moves to a new region, add a threat.
“...the old man was Gandalf the Wizard, whose fame in the Shire was due mainly to his skill with fires, smokes, and lights. His real business was far more difficult and dangerous, but the Shire-folk knew nothing about it.”
•Legendary Past
Condition • Support Area
Tale. To play, spot a tale.
If you can spot 3 combined and tales, Gandalf is resistance +1.
If you can spot 4 combined and tales, Gandalf is resistance +1.
If you can spot 6 combined and tales, each companion is resistance +1.
“They knew him by sight, though he only appeared in Hobbiton occasionally and never stopped long; but neither they nor any but the oldest of their elders had seen one of his firework displays....”
Not quite sure about the wording of this one. What it’s SUPPOSED to do is spot the total number of and tales, and give bonuses depending on how many you spot. 3 should make Gandalf resistance +1, and 4 should trigger another +1 on top of that for a total of +2. Then 6 tales would trigger one more resistance for Gandalf (for a total of +3) and +1 for everyone else.
So, do I have it worded correctly? And if not, any suggestions on how to fix it? |

So go the other direction? Not a bad idea, but I’m not a big fan of each other companion ending up with a +2 boost.... |

Nice. Pretty balanced. Maybe you should have to exert a wizard to play it. Probably doesn’t matter, though.

From here on out, we should show Gandalf’s typical versatility as the "Swiss Army Knife" of the fellowship; he does a little bit of lots of things.
For example, he helps out with burdens with cards like these. Enjoy!
Professionally Interested
Condition • Support Area
Each time the fellowship moves and you cannot spot a minion, add a burden.
Response: If a burden is about to be added as a result of The One Ring’s game text, you may exert Gandalf twice (or once if he has resistance 4 or more) to prevent that.
“‘I should like to know where it is, if you go wandering again. Also I think you have had it quite long enough. You won’t need it any more. Bilbo, unless I am quite mistaken.’”
Risky, but it can pay off in big ways. Some versions of The One Ring can pile on burdens very quickly. This can definately help with that.
Is it so risky, though, that it’s all but worthless? You tell me.
Stop Possessing It
Event • Maneuver
Exert a Wizard to remove a burden.
“‘It is quite made up. Go away and leave it behind.’”
On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have about as simple a burden-removal event as you can get. Better in some ways than Ease the Burden (since this costs 1 less), but doesn’t have the potential upside that Ease the Burden comes with. Hopefully that means they’d both have their place.
EDIT: Oh, and of course:
•Gandalf’s Pipe, Wizard’s Comfort
Possession • Pipe
Resistance +1
Bearer must be Gandalf.
Fellowship or Regroup: Discard 2 pipeweeds (or a pipeweed and a tale) and spot X pipes to remove X burdens (limit 3).
“Gandalf sat down again and puffed at his pipe, as if lost in thought.”
I considered just "reprinting" the original Gandalf’s Pipe, but in the end, I decided to make one that was very similiar, but different enough to stand on its own merit. In many ways, it’s weaker than the original (which has nearly-ridiculous burden removal potential), but this one works with the old (and new-in-my-sets) pipeweed possessions OR the silly pipeweed conditions Decipher seems fond of these days. It also, interestingly, can burn tales instead of that second required pipeweed, which I thought was appropriate since Gandalf typically tells tales of old while smoking in Fellowship of the Ring. And it gives a nice little resistance boost to Gandalf himself.
So...how is it, do you think? |
