1 Foul Fire Black
Condition
To play, spot a Dragon. Plays on the fellowship’s current site. Limit one per site.
Each companion of the race that has the most companions is strength -1 at this site.
But Glaurung was aware of all that they did, and he came forth in heat of wrath, and lay into the river; and a vast vapour and foul reek went up, in which Mablung and his company were blinded and lost.

2 Lost Memories Black
Condition * Support Area
Resistance: -1
Spell.
To play, spot a Dragon. Limit one per bearer.
Bearer’s game text cannot be used.
Regroup: Exert a Dragon to transfer this condition to an unbound companion.
He laid a spell of utter darkness and forgetfulness upon her, so that she could remember nothing that had ever befallen her, nor her own name, nor the name of any other thing; and for many days she could neither hear, nor see, nor stir by her own will.

1 Inperception Black
Condition
Spell.
To play, spot a Black card. Bearer must be an unbound companion.
Bearer is resistance -1 for each other Black card they bear.
Regroup: Discard a Black condition borne by a companion to add a threat.
When he asked her concerning her name and her kin and her misadventure, then she became troubled as a child that perceives that something is demanded but cannot understand what it may be; and she wept.

2 Heat and Great Stench Black
Event * Maneuver
Spot a Dragon to make an unbound companion resistance -3 (or to make each unbound companion resistance -1) until the regroup phase.
But ere the middle-night the dragon roused, and with a great noise and blast cast his forward part across the chasm, and began to draw his bulk after.

3 Last Throes of the Dragon Black
Event * Response
You may remove 3 Black cards in your discard pile from the game to play this event from your discard pile. Then remove this event from the game.
If a Dragon is killed, exert each unbound companion (or wound each unbound companion with resistance 3 or less).
But when Glaurung felt his death-pang, he screamed, and in his dreadful throe he heaved up his bulk and hurled himself across the chasm, and there lay lashing and coiling in his agony. And he set all in a blaze about him, and beat all to ruin, until at last his fires died, and he lay still.

Spot a Dragon to choose one: exert a companion with resistance 3 or less, or make a companion with resistance 3 or less strength -2 until the regroup phase.
And thereupon Glaurung opened his eyes and looked upon Turambar with such malice that it smote him as a blow; and by that stroke and the anguish of the venom he fell into a dark swoon.

5 Revelation Black

Spell.
Discard a Dragon and discard all shadow cards borne by an unbound companion to wound that companion once for each card discarded in this way.

Each artifact played at this site is twilight cost -2.

Shadow: Play a Dragon from your draw deck or discard pile; it is twilight cost -2.

...and a random card I thought up while doing lem0nhead’s DC contest. I couldn’t use it, since the card had to be good solo, so here it is, as a part of Rise of the Ring!

2 *Arwen, Bearer of the Wounded Elven
Companion * Elf
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistance: Ring 5
Arwen is resistance +1 for each unwounded companion you can spot.
While Arwen is the Ring-bearer, at the start of each skirmish involving her, you must add 2 burdens or 2 threats, and each time the fellowship moves you may heal each exhausted companion.

I think I would reword it so that their game text just can’t be used. Otherwise, it would seem that even after discarding this condition, they don’t get their game text back.

Up the cost to 2 or 3.

So you can use this virtually any time a Dragon dies if you have a good amount of Black cards. I GUESS that’s okay since it’s so expensive, but wow.

Strength -2. Otherwise it’s WAY too good. I think it should also cost 1, at least.

OUCH! Insta-death if you do it right, but I think it actually balances out with the costs.

...and the hits just keep on coming. Since it can only hold one Dragon, I think that’s okay, but discard this condition as part of the Shadow ability.

Well, I just wanted to finish off my Black Dragon cards.

Probably I’ll do the Black Sauron (actually, ONE of the Black Saurons) next.

Shadow: Exert Sauron to play a Werewolf, it is twilight cost -2 (or -3 if it is unique).
Sauron brought werewolves, fell beasts inhabited by dreadful spirits that he had imprisoned in their bodies.

9 *Carcharoth, The Red Maw Black
Minion * Werewolf
Strength: 16
Vitality: 3
Site: 6
Fierce.
While Carcharoth is not roaming, he is damage +1.
Each time Carcharoth wins a skirmish, the Free Peoples player must wound a companion.
Skirmish: Exert Charcharoth twice to make him strength +4. If he wins this skirmish, the Free Peoples player must discard 3 cards from hand.
There the fire and anguish of hell entered into him, and he became filled with a devouring spirit, tormented, terrible, and strong.

8 *Draugluin, Sire of Wolves Black
Minion * Werewolf

While Draugluin is not roaming, he is strength +3.

It’s going to take a LOT of twilight to get him out AND use his ability. Maybe make his cost -1 for each Elven and Gondor companion you can spot, or each Elf and Man companion you can spot.

Yowch! I think he should cost 10, or drop his initial damage +1.

Needs to cost 8 at least...maybe even 9. I think the skirmish ability should be reworded "Each time Draugluin wins a skirmish, you may exert him to exert a companion." Simpler and more concise. Thumbs Up

How many werewolves do you have? And are they all unique?

Take a Werewolf into hand from your draw deck; that Werewolf is not roaming until the regroup phase.
From time to time they saw two eyes kindled in the dark, and a werewolf devoured one of the companions;

3 Bridge-guard Black
Minion * Werewolf
Strength: 8
Vitality: 3
Site: 6
Fierce.
While this minion is not roaming, it is strength +2.
Regroup: Exert this minion to add a threat.
