Dain scraped in, AGAIN, so here are the entries:

lem0n

1 • Whip of Many Thongs, Flaming Lash Moria
Artifact • Hand Weapon
Strength: +1
Bearer must be The Balrog.
If The Balrog is at The Bridge of Khazad Dhum he is strength +2.
Skirmish: If The Balrog is in a skirmish involving a companion (except the ring bearer), you may exert it twice (or once if that companion is Gandalf) and discard it to place that companion in the dead pile.
"It raised the whip, and the thongs whined and cracked. Fire came from its nostrils.."

EL

1 *The Balrog’s Sword, Leaping Flame Moria
Artifact * Hand Weapon
Strength: +3
Bearer must be the Balrog. This hand weapon may be borne in addition to another hand weapon.
If bearer is not fierce, bearer is damage +1.
Shadow: Discard a Moria minion from hand to add a threat or discard a free peoples condition.
From out of the shadow a red sword leaped flaming.

Dain

1The Balrog’s Sword, Stabbing Tongue of Fire Moria
Artifact • Hand Weapon
Strength +3
Bearer must be The Balrog.
This weapon may be borne in addition to 1 other hand weapon and may be played any time you could play a skirmish event.
At the start of each skirmish involving The Balrog, you may remove a burden or discard this weapon to wound each companion in that skirmish.
“From out of the shadow a red sword leaped flaming.”

AD

2 *Axe of the Shadow Moria
Artifact - Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be The Balrog.
During a fierce skirmish, he is damage +1.
Skirmish: Exert The Balrog twice and discard this artifact to wound a companion skirmishing the Balrog twice. The Free Peoples player may add two burdens to prevent this.
The Balrogs of Morgoth wielded more than mere swords.

Thran

1 • The Balrog’s Sword, Dark Blade Moria
Artifact • Hand Weapon
Str: +3
Bearer must be The Balrog.
May be borne in addition to 1 other hand weapon.
While you can spot 3 Orcs, the Balrog is enduring.
From out of the shadow a red sword leaped flaming.

Note: This is partly to work well with my Balrog.

SoP

1 •Fire of Morgoth Moria
Possession
Bearer must be a Balrog.
Each time the Balrog takes a wound, you may exert a companion. Response : If a companion skirmishing the Balrog is killed, discard this possession to add a burden (or 2 burdens if at an underground.)

AC

1 •The Balrog’s Sword, Tongue of Fire Moria
Artifact • Hand Weapon
Strength +2
Bearer must be The Balrog. This weapon may be borne in addition to 1 other hand weapon.
When you play this possession, you may exert The Balrog twice to exert a companion. That companion cannot use his or her special abilities until the regroup phase.
"From out of the shadow a red sword leaped flaming."

AP

1 • Whip of Many Thongs, Fiery Scourge Moria
Artifact • Hand Weapon
Strength +1
Bearer must be The Balrog.
Response: If The Balrog is assigned to skirmish an unbound companion, remove 2 and discard The Balrog to discard that companion.
”But even as it fell it swung its whip, and the thongs lashed and curled about the wizard’s knees, dragging him to the brink.”

m64

2 Shadow of Morgoth Moria
Possession • Support Area
Each time you play The Balrog, you may transfer this possession to it.
The Balrog may not be the target of Free Peoples events or Free Peoples special abilities.
Regroup: Exert The Balrog to transfer this possession to your support area.
"...it was not the trolls that had filled the Elf with terror... and a power and terror seemed to be in it and go before it."

mm

1 • The Balrog’s Sword, Blade of Fire Moria
Artifact • Hand Weapon
Bearer must be the Balrog.
Skirmish: Remove a Moria token to make The Balrog strength +1 and Damage +1. (limit +3)
This artifact may be borne in addition to 1 other hand weapon.

Please vote for your favourite 3 in order of preference as usual. Voting deadline is wednesday. If you are in the contest (except SoP who is away) you have to vote. But anyone else is welcome to vote, in fact please do!

Thanks!

Wow. Um. I’m kind of surprised at these results. I think I might cry. Laughing

AP (Sums up the fight scene really well)
Dain (Just an all-around good sword)
EL (Very awesome utility card, but there’s a bit too much going on)
Riddle 9
When I came to Abraham I let him live just a moment longer. When I came to Moses I saved his life more than once. But the salmon... I regret to say I had a hand in its death.

Who am I?
