A question...why do decks like this include multiple Gollums? Why not one Gollum?

Versatility and the ability to play gollum at every site. If you get lots of burdens, Gollum Stinker is nice. If you need to have Gollum win skrimishes, Gollum Mad Thing is best. If you want to wound the ring bearer, Gollum Dark as Darkness is your man. The cards that pull him from your deck or discard pile make it possible for you to have the right Gollum at the right time.

Correct. Also note that because the skirmish is still technically going on, the wound from You’re a Liar and a Thief will trigger an exertion from Promise Keeping. Cool
