Each time bearer wins a skirmish you may heal a Gandalf companion and take a Gandalf card into hand from your discard pile.

beware, this one’s a companion! (pallando is one of the five wizards, is he not?)

4 Pallando, Istari Gandalf
Companion-Wizard
Strength 8
Vit 4
Res 7
To play, Spot a Wizard. Each time you play a Gandalf spell, you may heal pallando. Maneuver: Exert Pallando twice to draw a card for each Gandalf follower you can spot.

Yes! A Pallando companion! Applause
It might be "Pallando, Blue Istari". I love his key-in with followers, although you’ll only be able to play one Gandalf follower in the game, remember-since the Pallando follwer is unique. (BTW, this guy should be unique too)

carpe, you can use both the companion pallando and the follower pallando. Remember, followers aren’t characters. so you may have both the follower and the companion. but no two copies of the follower or the companion out at the same time. maybe someone like AC could explain it better, but...

Nope. It doesn’t go by characters. It goes by card titles.

Comprehensive Rulebook 4.0 wrote:
Many character, possession, artifact, and condition cards represent a thing that there is only one of. Such a card has a dot (•) before the card title and is unique. When a unique card is in play and currently active, you cannot play another card that has the same title.

It doesn’t matter if they’re different types or not. All that matters is the title.

If you still want the "official" answer, this same issue came up a few weeks ago in Gameplay Questions and Merrick_Hale posted a relevant quote from the rulebook. Here’s the link.
