Sort of like a Red Wrath for Orcs -- pretty sweet!
There are some downsides to this card. If you have an condition in hand at the start of a skirmish, it typically means you skipped a chance to play it during the Shadow phase, and if you do want that card to hit the table, it will be taking up space in your hand for another turn. There’s also the fact that the minion itself gets discarded -- that means there won’t be an extra wound if Orkish Invader wins his skirmish, and it also makes double-moving significantly easier for the fellowship.
These things prevent the card from being really outstanding in my opinion, but it’s definitely playable. I give it a 4. |

Wow. The ability to autowound twice is just insane. Given how easily the culture can regenerate conditions (and minions too), there will be a lot of hurt fellowships in the near future. |

By itself, I’d say it’s not bad, but might take a bit to convince me to use its ability.
Of course, if you can get a Mordor Scimitar and Undisciplined in combination (obviously with an condition in hand), it’s basically a ’Kill a companion with 3 vitality (except the Ring-bearer)’. Each copy of Great Cost (with 6+ companions, of course...) increases the allowance by an additional one. Of course that’ll cost 6 for a 13 strength minion, plus however much Undisciplined costs you, so it should be a 14 or higher strength companion.
Of course, if you play with programmers or anyone that takes obvious mistakes as if they were intentional, you lose out on quite a few boosts. He’s not an Orc, but an orc. Of course, the combo above would still work... |

But unlike Red Wrath your opponent can see this coming.
Well, with Red Wrath, if my opponent who’s running men mysteriously leaves in the twilight pool I can usually tell what’s coming.
This card is pretty awesome... with all the other wounding cards, two wounds should definately be enough to knock off a companion. Combine it with Undisciplined, Mordor Scimitar, Orc Hammer, and any Exert-to-wound minions...
Still, it does take keeping a condition in hand. I don’t think there are any conditions that can be played during regroup (yet), but what if D makes some? If D makes an card along the lines of Some Secret Art of Flame, this card could see a lot more play.
Still, it has drawbacks, but for a good effect. I’ll give it a 4. |

another option for this would be, wait are there any unique orc conditions? Someone might have a double of one, and then use this ability before discarding it in regroup. |

Shouldn’t the name be Orcish instead of Orkish? |

Well, with Red Wrath, if my opponent who’s running men mysteriously leaves in the twilight pool I can usually tell what’s coming.
Which is why we Southron runners don’t leave in the pool, we generate tons of twilight with Mumakil of the Harad and Southron Bandit, and run minions that use to wound a companion they’re skirmishing. My opponent thinks he can handle it, then WHAM! , three wounds on one dude, and instead of everyone getting hurt like he thought, one guy dies and then everyone gets hurt with threats.
Or you can just run tons of ambush.
So, the point of this post is not spam, but to prove BtO right. Elf Lvr, A good Southron deck never leave laying around in the shadow phase, it generates the pool later. |
