Okay, get ready, because here’s a chance to let your DC-making skills fly! Here comes CG’s DC contest. The name of the game? "Setting the Scene". But what exactly does that mean? Let me explain...

A nice thing to have in DC contests is a sort of theme to tie everything together. In this contest, the theme is going to be a scene from LOTR! (Books or movies) Whatever scene I give you, you must submit one DC based on it. Here’s my suggested criteria for evaluation:

1. Does it reflect a part of the scene? Is the connection between the DC and the scene evident? (Direct quotes as card titles are always a plus)
2. Is it a well-designed card? Is it overpowered or broken? Is it worthwhile to play with?
3. Is it unique?

Let me give you an example. We’ll suppose that the scene I gave everyone was "Elrond gives Anduril to Aragorn". Here’s a card that would fit:

•Blade of a King Gondor

Condition
Vitality: +1
Bearer must be Aragorn. If bearer is about to be overwhelmed in a skirmish, you may exert bearer to take a wound instead.

Ah, what the heck? I’ll let you two join in. The limit was more because I didn’t want to be waiting around for six or so people to join up. But they did anyway! Very Happy
