Isildur, Heir of Elendil

Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith

Tradesman From Lebennin x3

Anduril, Flame of the West x2

Gondorian Sword x4

Gondorian Steed

Brego, Loyal Steed

Noble Leaders x2

Garrison of Osgiliath

Houses of Healing

Heirs of Gondor

Support of the City

Ithilien Trap

Strategy

Aragorn, Isildur’s Heir will be the main fighting companion once his conditions are in play. Elendil, Isildur, and Faramir can help out as well. Tradesman From Lebennin can reinforce tokens as needed. In general, Boromir will not be skirmishing a lot, but with a Ranger’s Cloak to boost his resistance and vitality he can survive a few skirmishes.

I agree with Elf Lvr. One good way to fix that problem is simply to make sure you have Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith out by site three, so he can fill in any holes in your setup. With this decktype Denethor is almost always part of the starting fellowship. Alternately, you could consider running four copies of him, as he can always use the healing.

Yeah I’m considering putting in Scroll of Isildur and a few copies Sapling of the White Tree. I could also start Denethor and Faramir, but then getting Aragorn out could be a problem (he’s not a ranger, otherwise I could just use the Prancing Pony). So I suppose 4 copies of Denethor is the way to go.

Any more ideas? |

| You could always start Boromir, Faramir, and then Aragorn, Strider. |

But then he wouldn’t get the cool strength bonus from Aragorn, Isildur’s Heir. |

Verdad, I guess it depends on whether you want to start Aragorn or not.

I love the ranger SF that goes like this:

Faramir, Captain of Gondor

Aragorn, Strider

Gondorian Prowler (x any number)

Madril, Defender of Osgiliath

Any random 1 cost companion

Which lets you max out at nine companions quite easily. |

I was thinking of starting:

Boromir, Bearer of Council

The One Ring, The Ring of Rings

Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith

Faramir, Prince of Ithilien

Aragorn, Strider

However, as AC said, then I wouldn’t get the bonus from Isildur’s Heir. But it could work. |

| Yes, that would have to be your call. If you wanted to filter, you might consider putting Aragorn, Isildur’s Heir back in your draw deck, and instead sticking in a gondorian prowler. |

If you absolutely love the Isildur’s Heir deck build, I have a TON of advice for you, my friend runs a deck like that and its his best. First, I should say, drop the skirmish events. you probably wont need them. Isildur ring-bearer and boromir, hero of osgiliath would be better than what you’ve got, IMHO. Three copies of Heirs of Gondor and Noble Leaders is a must, in case you have to use them up early. Stock a companion (probably boromir) with posessions (a sword and bow, athelas, so forth) and use Gaurded City. That is THE token reinforcement card. Drop Ithilien Trap, it isn’t worth it. Also, you may want to drop king’s legacy and confronting the eye, maybe elendil too. What good does he do you if you put narsil on the r-b? (if you end up using the isildur r-b). Citadel of minas tirith is also helpful.

just my two cents. |
