Joined: 23 Mar 2006 Posts: 7750 Location: somwhere, over the rainbow way up high. There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby.

I have a question about winning skirmishes. lets say I have arrows of the south down and my friend adds a burden to discard pippin,WFR who was in a skirmish with a desert lord. Did i win the skirmish? Or would it be like the skirmish had been canceled. also if I killed a minion in th skirmish phase would I have won? Or if I killed a companion with red wrath

This is a case where reading the rules might be helpful. Wink

If one side is completely removed from a skirmish, the other side wins. A skirmish is only canceled if a card says it’s canceled, in which case there is no winner or loser.

All cards do what they say.

Bib is correct.

However, if Pippin is discarded during another companion’s skirmish, the minion who was assigned to Pip doesn’t win a skirmish, since his skirmish never started.

I don’t know if it fits the subject, but also keep in mind that, if one of the characters involved in a skirmish is killed due to a "wounding" action (for instance, the ability of Orc Soldier), then the surviving character ALSO won the skirmish. I this example, assuming an exhausted Orc Soldier is assigned to a beastly Durin III, just for sadistic fun. But then, the skilled Shadow player somehow HEALS it, and then wounds it to inflict the final blow on the old dwarf. In this case, even if Orc Soldier is strength 7 and Durin III is strength, let’s say, 1000, Orc Soldier WINS!!! Twisted Evil

that would be funny a tiny minion taking out a beast of a companion.
