Team play - have any of you ever tried that? I played this ’mode’ today and have to say it brings about really lots of fun, but due to the card structure - designed for 1on1s or multiplayer games where players fight against each other - which makes its very controversive. However, after stating some basic rules - consulting is possible, double site twilight cost, taking archery at both fellowships - we started to play. unfortunately, it turned out that these ’basic’ rules are just a peak of an enormous mountain. Almost each card had to be discussed, mainly because we didn’t know how its abilities will affect players divided in two teams, not single opponents.

Well, any suggestions?

Maybe just pretend like the 2 players are one person.
Act like you share a hand and that your fellowship is combined. So basically just play it as a normal one on one game. Just have 2 guys make up one player.

That might help

I also play something like this, with four seperate players, with four seperate turns. All in all, it functions more like a four-player game, except that if one player from a team reaches site nine, both players win. The coditions, companions, possessions, and so forth, cannot be used or spotted by teammates or opponents. Followers, allies, and events can be used to assist parners. If a condition says, for example: "Discard YOUR nazgul" then the controller can only discard their nazgul. "Discard A nazgul", can be either players nazgul. We have also had to alter some fellowship cards to read: "choose AN opponent" and alter some corruption cards to only affect one opponent, just to make it fair.

Just a tip for playing it like this, four under the Watching Eye used by both shadow players are killer. Twisted Evil

That’s just how I play it.

I forgot, the move limit isn’t extended in this format either (unless you’re playing multiple teams...) I’ve seen up to 4 teams (8 players) in one game! now that was fun! However, only one team was permitted to play against one team, it got rather compilcated...
