ok, Relics of Moria says
"remove to play a possession from your discard pile."
the Balrog’s sword is an artifact.
so does the artifact fall under that catagory of possessions in this case, or not? |

Nope. It’s a different card, so unless it stated "a possession or artifact", you’d have to keep it in hand. However, the card IS a weapon, so if you had Goblin Armory in play, it would add twilight when you played.
Always keep an eye on the cards’ subtype for these matters. Another example, a Relics of Moria could fetch a Cave Troll’s Chain, but it wouldn’t add twilight with Goblin Armory, since it is a possession, but not a weapon. |
