--- description ---
This is the deck i’m planning on building. The Three Hunters and orcs.
--- end description ---
FP:32
Starting:
1- Gimli, Bearer of Grudges
1- The One Ring, Answer to All Riddles
1- Legolas, Greenleaf
1- Aragorn, Strider
1- Pippin, Wearer of Black and Silver
Possesions:
2- Ring of Fury
1- Gimli’s Battle Axe, Trusted Weapon
1- Hand Axe
1- Dwarven Bracers
1- Gimli’s Helm
1- Ranger’s Sword
1- Aragorn’s Bow, Ranger’s Longbow
1- Asfaloth, Elven Steed
1- Aiglos
Events:
4- Quick As May be
2- Great Day, Great Hour
2- Blood Runs Chill
Conditions:
4- Gondor Bowmen
2- Forth the Three Hunters
1- Shadow Between
1- The Tale of Gil-Galad
1- The Saga of Elendil
1- Proud and Able
1- Dark Ways
Strategy:
This is more of a fun deck, but it has quite alot of power nonetheless. The idea is to use Aragorn’s Bow to get threats, then use the archery of Legolas,Gimli and Aragorn, plus Gondor Bowmen and Quick As Maybe’s to kill of minions. Forth the Three Hunters can also be used to get additional wounds off, and due to the small number of companions/twilight you will add, there shouldn’t be too many minions to shoot at. Great Day, Great Hour is great for exhausting big minions (lets cut that Shelob down to size shall we)
Gimli and Aragorn should be strong enough to kill off anything left alive.
Dark Ways and Shadow Between provide healing, and Proud and Able gives Gimli enough resistance to have a chance against corruption.
Dark Ways also lets me pull a BRC or GDGH back.
Blood Runs Chill gets rid of whatever needs to die in regroup.
Pippin helps get me through the 1-3 double, and then sacrifices himself, or if playing archery sticks around to absorb wounds.
Shadow:32
Minions:
4- Isengard Underling
4- Orkish Smith
3- Mocking Goblin
3- Porter Troll
Possesions:
4- Orc Spear
Events:
4- Bound to Its Fate
2- Dread and Despair
Conditions:
4- Retribution
2- Unforgiving Depths
2- Goblin Hordes
Strategy:
Fairly simple. Use the Mocking Goblin, Porter Troll and Bound to It’s Fate to discard their events or make them add burdens. Then win skirmishes with mocking goblins or trolls with orc spears and then add even more burdens with retribution. the isengard underlings pulls Bound To Its Fate back, and then orkish smith allows me to bring unforgiving depths back, which allows me to trigger my goblin hordes and pull my trolls/whatever minion is most appropriate back. I would add another goblin hordes, but I don’t have anymore ()
...thoughts please? |

Looks fun...on your Archery side, have a look at Hearts Raised, to get rid of threats and let Aragorn refuel for more archery wounding. I also think you need a reliable way to boost Gimli’s damage bonus, to use Great Day, Great Hour and Blood Runs Chill.
Here’s a similar Freeps I posted a while back...

I have Proud and Able and Ring of Fury to boost. Gimli’s resistance/damage.
Thought about hearts raised but don’t really have any space. |

Do you have any more Proud and Able, to increase drawing chances? Ring of Fury is a good choice. |
