This deck is designed to kill swarming your opponent, so the fellowship side has been constructed for 2 objectives: play and take cards from the draw deck and survive in region 2. It is based in Rangers and Ithilien Blade, that will let you survive to practically all shadows (in region 2).

The shadow deck must have a lot of small twilight cost minions, like in all nice swarming decks, or another strategy, like playing a fast corruption strategy deck. The best shadows I have played with this deck are MORCS, New Orcs, Forest Nazgul and Enduring Nazgul-Morcs corruption deck.

The starting fellowship is very important in this deck, because you begin with a fellowship of 6 companions at the same time, so it let you begin with 5 less free people cards in the draw deck.

However, the key cards that really let work the deck are:

Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith

Deagol, Fateful Finder

Something Slimy

Here the deck:

30 cards

Ring bearer: Frodo Resolute Hobbit

Ring: The one ring, the ring of rings

Starting companions

Aragorn, Strider

Gondorian Prowler

Madril, Defender of Osgiliath

Smeagol, Simple Stoor

Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith

Companions

1x Isildur Heir of Elendil

1x Boromir Defender of Minas Tirith

1x Mablung Ranger of Ithilien

Posesions

4x Ithilien Blade

3x Ranger’s Cloak

1x Aragorn’s Bow, Ranger’s Longbow

Followers

3x Deagol, Fateful Finder

Events

3x Something Slimy

1x One Good Turn Deserves Another

1x Well Traveled

Conditions

4x Invigorated

1x the tale of the great Ring

1x Safe Passage

You can start as a fellowship or shadow, so bid 0 if you want because the deck is designed to let you play the 5 first places in case you start as fellowship, that is very necessary if you need for example a forest way for your Nazgul, or what you want:

One Good Turn Deserves Another

Well Traveled

With Safe Passage you will be able to remove 4 when the fellowship moves.

If you start as fellowship, the first place will be Dammed Gate-stream, and you will play from the draw deck One Good Turn Deserves Another, that will let you play 2 sites.

Something Slimy and Deagol, Fateful Finder, will let you play cards from the draw deck. The first posesion you have to play is Aragorn’s Bow, Ranger’s Longbow, that will let you kill some minions. In fact, the ring and frodo will let you put on him all threats if a companion is killed, and again you will be able to kill more minios with Aragorn’s bow Ranger’s Longbow.

Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith will let you take in hand three more f.p. cards from the draw deck in site 3.

Smeagol, Simple Stoor, will let you discard smeagol culture cards from the draw deck (remember the bonus strength with Deagol, Fateful Finder)

Isildur Heir of Elendil, is a very good card for this deck, however, you have to take care with the burdens!

Well, if you play the cards in the good way, in site 4-5 you will have only 3 or 4 free peoples cards in the draw deck. And it means that you will have practically three consecutive swarms in region 2: from 3 to 4 sites, from 4 to 5 and from 5-6. However, in region three there will not be cards i the draw deck so...but you don’t need it, because you have killed the opponent’s ring bearer!!

What do you think? Could somebody post a good Uruk swarming deck for this fellowship? Or another sort of swarming deck? |

Nice filtering! Here’s some cards you can use for swarming...because swarm can be a fun shadow to play.

Massing Strength-very awesome, especially if you’ve got about 7-8 minions out! OVERWHELM!!!

Goblin Hordes-a must-have for a swarm deck. And to go with that...

Unforgiving Depths-awesome site path manipulation.

Scurrying Goblin-the new Goblin Runner...and somewhat as good. A great combo with Mountain-Troll.

Mountain-Troll-this baby can really smash up your opponent, especially if comboed with 3 or 4 Scurrying Goblin. Get that extra twilight, then use it to play minions from your discard pile! A HUGE fierce minion, plus about 4 or 5 smaller goblins is a force to be reckoned with! |

Well, I think 3 Deagol is ok for 30/30 cards. However, If you want to increase the size of the deck you can put another copy...

In case you want to construct an expanded deck, it can be nice to use this starting fellowship:

1x Faramir, Captain of Gondor

1x Aragorn, Strider

1x Denethor, Lord of Minas Tirith

3x Gondorian Prowler

1x Madril, Defender of Osgiliath

1x Smeagol, Simple Stoor

It makes 9 companions in the starting fellowship, so it means that you have 8 free peoples cards less in the draw deck. |
