Durail walked into the small courtyard. Lyon and Tuilin followed at his sides. The three had come to rivendel after they had been wounded fighting in Beorning country. Elrond motioned them to sit down, and the meeting began. Durail noted that there were several official from Gondor, Rohan, the elves, and the Dwarves. Elrond’s voice broke the quite.
“The hours are dark, and time is short. As you know Mordor is rising. Gondor is experiencing the worst so far. Isengard is also now against us. These are the two big powers that are in power. Rohan has tasted Isengard’s power, and is trying to fight it even now. There is another foe however, that is worse than both of these since it is being over looked. Moria. Moria is able to attack any place it wants. We need to take it out before it can take us out.”
A dwarf spoke up. “Balin has overtaken Moria already.”
“We have received word from Gandalf that moria is held by the goblins and Balin is dead.”
After hearing this, the dwarves rose in fury. “We will give as many dwarves possible to this cause. Nobody will have seen the power of the dwarves until now!”
Many more murmurings agreed with the dwarves, and very soon Gondor had pledged men, and so had Rohan. The elves however where not so ready to support the cause, but after heavy persuasion by Tuilin and Lyon the elves soon gave two hundred elven archers and one hundred swords men.
It took little time to gather supplies so the caravan was soon on their way. |

Down in the depths of moria, creatures, beyond height of men and Uruks, Trolls. The creatures that were the backbone of the foul beasts of burden. They were mostly imprisoned, but some had gained the favor of the Lord of Fire. These were the Strong trolls, the warrior trolls, better armed, and swifter in battle than the other Cave Trolls that were decent only for carrying loads. But the warriors were few, and their number lessened, as more and more trolls were going off the the Dark Lord’s summons. The trolls were then valued as fighters to the goblins, and were mostly treated well, the two Cheiftains were Gognut and anougher troll.

Bulguth was one of Moria’s best warrior trolls, and was in high favor of the Flame-God. He and his companion Gognut were vastly more
intelligent then ordinary Cave-Trolls; they had each slain a fair share of Rangers in their time. For now, Bulguth was resting unaware of the threat to the Goblin’s domain... |

Durail walked up to the water that guarded Moria. with one swift move he threw a stone in the water and pulled his bow. just as suspected the watcher came up. Durail and two hundred elves fired at the exact same moment, and the watcher of the water greatest water beast was destroyed. Durail watched as the dwarves tore down the dam that now kept the river from flowing through. The elves were singing to the great trees, causing them to strainten from a previous attack. no one knew why the trees had barrackaded the door but the had. after three more hours of listening to elvish music, the army entered moria with such quiet that no one could hear them. the dwarves advanced first, then gondor and rohan, followed by the elves in their special cloaks that hid them from sight. and the rangers followed behind them. so far is was going good. |

Grrruhh, Bulguth awoke with a grunt as a goblin scrabbled forward and whispered something in Bulguth’s ear. Bulguth grunted and went to wake Gognut. They had both been summoned, by the Flame-God himself! |

Ithildon had just arrived by himself, and helped the elves "sing" the trees back into position. Just as they straitened out, he presented himself to one who looked like the leader. "Reporting for duty, sir!" |

Lyon sat off to the side, waiting for the dwarves to get through the doors and for the company of warriors to move ahead. He knew not what lay ahead, and didn’t really care. Whatever it was, it was going to die.
He would see to it. |

The Flame-God commanded Bulguth and Gognut to each take a troop of Goblins down to the Watcher-Gate. They swiftly, and silently obeyed... |

...but not silently enough.
The dwarves and elves had gotten into the stairway chamber, and had seen the carcasses of defeated dwarves heaped against the walls.
Many dwarves fell to their knees and howled in grief, but all the elves became instantly alert. Each drew their bows and nocked an arrow to the strings.
With hearing beyond that of mortal beings, they heard the sounds of the marshalling of the armies of Moria. The host of elves and dwarves moved on into the tunnels of moria. They hoped to reach one of the massive halls of Moria. Although goblins could attack from anywhere at anytime, it seemed the safest place to fight, where they had room to move. Slowly, the army marched along the corridors. |
