A wounding deck that uses the three hunters...
--- end description ---

Starting:
1x Gimli, Bearer of Grudges
1x The One Ring, Answer to all Riddles
1x Legolas, Greenleaf
1x Aragorn, Strider
1x Pippin, Wearer of Black and Silver
Possesions:
3x Hand Axe
2x Ring of Fury
1x Aragorn’s Bow, Ranger’s Longbow
1x Ranger’s Sword
1x Gimli’s Battle Axe, Trusted Weapon
1x Legolas’ Bow
1x Aiglos
Events:
4x Quick As May Be
4x Nocked
2x Great Day, Great Hour
2x Blood Runs Chill
Conditions:
4x Gondor Bowmen
1x Shadow Between
1x The Tale of Gil-Galad
1x The Saga of Elendil

This deck is powerful, as all the companions it needs are in the starting fellowship. It also chokes very nicely, as it requires hardly any twilight to set up.

Pippin is there to help get you through the early sites, and also to be a wound soak against archery decks.

The strategy is fairly simple, wound, wound and wound some more. If anything does reach the skirmish, Aragorn and Gimli are not bad fighters.

Blood Runs Chill is for condition/possesion removal.

Great Day, Great Hour is amazing against big minions like Castamir of Umbar and Shelob, Her Ladyship as it means you can more or less exhaust them instantly.

Legolas’ Bow is in there so that Legolas can heal his nocked exertion, and still use his ability to wound. i’ve gone with nocked over double shot as nocked provides directed wounding which is better.

Good deck. Very good. I like the Twisted Evil Legolas combo. Put his bow exerts/heal with nocked and still can use his text.
A good example of the 3 hunters. Since you’re using Pippin, you could put one shadowplay to extra exert.

100 post!! Let’s celebrate!!!! Mr. Green

I have a few issues, I don’t think Great Day, Great Hour is that cool, and... isn’t Knocked, with only Greenleaf as a target, a little... "overload"? If you CAN use knocked, you CAN use Greenleaf’s ability. Also, if someone drops Greenleaf’s resistance, it’s a dead event. Well, actually, it’s a dead event anyway. Welll, it DOES work with the bow, but you only have ONE bow for FOUR Knocked! And I’m not even sure it works like that, I think the event should read "to play, exert an elf", or stuff with toil, not sure it works with this event, although I THINK it does. You could try Defend It and Hope, maybe some of it and some of knocked, or even try using it over knocked, and using Elrond, Herald to Gil-Galad over the bow, for some targeted healing... Oh, yes, I also think it’s not really "Three Hunters" anything, unless it DOES use the Hunters...
I don't like YOU.

The classic 3 hunters deck (USED ABOUT THE 5TH EDITION AND THUS IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THE HUNTERS SET) used Frodo, Legolas Greenleaf, Gimli son of Gloin, and Aragorn ranger of the north. Check my article in a couple of days. Cool

ask about it in game play questions.
if it doesn’t work replace them with double shot. Great day great hour can be useful...the first aragorn’s bow might actually be better in this deck

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. Razz

Who would ever dare claim the opposite?
