As a simple 11/2 fierce minion for 5 twilight, Stampeding Shepherd is decent but slightly overcosted.
I can’t wait to see Stampeding Chief! But even if the Chief is a fantastic card, the Shepherd’s game text doesn’t seem all that great. You save one twilight (discarding a 5-cost minion and a 2-cost minion to play an 8-cost minion for free), and you might get to play the Chief earlier than you otherwise would. But you’re also ditching two useful cards for the sake of playing one... This might be my Magic: The Gathering instincts kicking in where they don’t necessarily apply, but that seems like a bad idea.
I’ll rate this card a three, and give the Chief higher marks if he changes my mind later. |

That doesn’t work - Stampeding Shepherd can’t use his maneuver ability while stacked on a possession.
The cool thing is that you do get 2 minions stacked on Ceremonial ArmorNOLINK when you use his maneuver ability, and you also get a nice big minion in play (assuming that the Chief is as good as he sounds). |

What’s that card named again? The one that lets you play minion from hand when one of your minions is discarded?
Imagine using this big guy with a hand full of minions and a new easterling suicider and the condition to back you up: you play a (i guess) huge minion from your draw deck, a minion from hand, and two more minions with twlight -2 (and i don’t remember what other bonuses) from hand by activating the condition. A remarkable card. |
