About "The Way is Under..."...the idea of using "Condition • Site" wasn’t actually invented by me, but by Decipher. See cards like Pummeling Blow. And as for an underground mountain...well, ever heard of Mount Doom? Wink

The reason Dwarven Stronghold is a fortification is because I think we might find some cards based around Dwarven fortifications. (hint, hint)

And regarding Seeker of Truesilver...I think I will change it to limit one per bearer, seeing as it gives a vitality bonus, too.

Damage +1. Gimli is strength +1 for each condition he bears.
Fellowship: Play a Dwarven condition on Gimli to heal him.

Maneuver: Stack a Dwarven card from hand here to make the Shadow player exert a minion.
Skirmish: Make a dwarf strength +1 for each card stacked here (limit +5). Discard this condition.

Condition • Support Area
Fortification.
At the start of the fellowship phase, you may stack a Dwarven card from hand here to heal a dwarf.
Response: If a dwarf is about to take a wound in a skirmish, discard a card from here to prevent that.

0 Dwarven Handaxe Dwarven
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength: +1
This weapon may be borne in addition to one other hand weapon.
Archery: Discard this weapon to wound a minion with the lowest strength.

Nice cycling card. I usually hate saying this, but maybe bump it up to an uncommon?

Much too good, in my opinion. Not only is it any card, but it’s free and can keep a fellowship alive fairly easily. Add costs, cultural enforcement, yadda yadda yadda.

I don’t have time to go through again through my cards, just this comment-I knew that Sons of the Mountains was just like another card! I just couldn’t place it...I’ll have to give it a little flavor now...

Captain is a loaded keyword...the other loaded keyword for this set is Reinforcements X. Captain: "Each time this character wins a skirmish, make a character of the same culture strength +2".

How is it powerful without the Response action? 1 in the skirmish phase isn’t typically very much. What Shadow thrives off of events? But I think I’ll remove the muster bonus to give it more balance.

I think Barricaded Door should cost 3, then stack a Dwarven card. Since it *is* a common (even though I generally shy from shaping a card around its rairty), and commons (at least, Dwarven conditions) seem to be costed a tad higher.

Due to timing issues, Captain might need to say:
"Each time this character wins a skirmish, make a character of the same culture strength +2 until the end of that character’s skirmish."

On that note, have you considered making Captain something like Captain 1 and Captain 3, since some people can lead better than others?

I think I was a little tired when I read Stronghold; but I’m pretty sure I was just commenting on the sheer amount of things going on in the card. Dropping any one of the parts of it should clean it up.

I took your advice on Barricaded Doors...and that’s an awesome idea for Captain! I’ll change it in the thread’s opening post, and give Balin a Captain number.

I’ve also decided to up the number of Gondor cards, because I’m going to be covering the Paths of the Dead in this set, since it’s about all of Arda’s "underdwellers".

Two final Dwarven cards!
1 Dwarven Miner Dwarven
Companion • Dwarf
Strength: 4
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6
This companion is strength +1 for each Dwarven condition he bears.
