The poll is now live. Everyone is welcome to vote, including participants, but please don’t vote for yourself!
_________________________________________
This thread is for LOTR TCG dream cards dealing with the theme of "oaths." This could be as simple as a boost for the Gondor Wraiths ("oathbreakers") strategy. Or it could be something more complex and original -- for example, a card that makes your opponent correctly give some information or promise to do something, or else be punished.
The author who most impresses our player community will win a promo version of Eomer, Keeper of Oaths, card number 0 P 49, commemorating the release of the Siege of Gondor set.
Feel free to submit more than one dream card. (Edit them all into one post, please.) Voters may consider any combination of quality and quantity they wish.
Good luck! |

Okay!
Oath of the White Council
Event-Fellowship
Exert a wizard to make a shadow player reveal X cultures from his hand. At the start of the regroup phase, that shadow player reveals his hand. If there are more or less than X cultures in his hand, that shadow player discards his hand.
Saruman broke the Oath of the White Council, and now he is paying dearly.
This card seems easy to get around, but what if your opponent has a shadow that loves drawing cards, or was planning on dropping all his shadow cards this turn? This card would dissuade them from doing that.
Cool theme, cobra! I’ll be making more cards like this one for this contest!
EDIT:
*Oath of the Vala
Condition
Strength: +1
Vitality: +1
Bearer must be a wizard. Maneuver: Discard this condition to take a spell from your discard pile into hand. |

* Oath of the Elves
Event - Fellowship
To play, spot 3 elves
When you play this, place 3 tokens here.
While you can spot a archer, the minion archery total is -3 and each minion skirmishing a companion is strength -1.
Skirmish: Remove a token from here or discard this condition to make each elf strenght +1 until the regroup phase.
When elves give an oath, they follow through with it. |

•Oath of the Fellowship
Condition
Bearer must be the ring-bearer.
While you can spot a companion (except the ring-bearer), the ring-bearer is resistance +1.
While you can spot an companion (except the ring-bearer), each minion skirmishing the ring-bearer is strength -1.
While you can spot a companion (except the ring-bearer), the ring-bearer is strength +1.
While you can spot a companion (except the ring-bearer), the ring-bearer is damage +1.
While you can spot a companion (except the ring-bearer), at the start of each turn, heal the ring-bearer.
”You have my sword…And you have my bow…And my axe!”
Designer’s Notes: Well…since the nine walkers promoted the concept of an original fellowship deck-type, it seems this deck never really took off. However, I personally am strongly in favor of this deck-type. So, I designed a card that worked well with this strategy.
“I will help you bear this burden,” Gandalf strove to lighten the burden borne by Frodo. So, this is symbolized by an increase of resistance of the ring-bearer.
“And you have my bow,” A skilled archer, Legolas could kill a minion with a single shot. Although this is impractical in the game, I attempt to draw the picture of a minion weakened by arrows. Minion strength- bonuses are also very typical of the elves in the game.
“You have my sword…You carry the faith of us all, little one” The men of Gondor attacked with ferocity and strength. In keeping with the concept of the strength bonus of the men of Gondor, the men of Gondor lend a strength bonus to the ring-bearer.
“And my axe” Gimli, the dwarf, struck hard with his axe, as did all dwarves. This concept is captured in the game as damage, a trait of the dwarves. So, as is typical of the dwarves, they lend a damage bonus to the ring-bearer.
“Where are we going?” The comical nature of Merry and Pippin relieved the ring-bearer by providing many light notes. This effect is captured by healing the ring-bearer.
So, with this card, maybe the original fellowship deck would be able to make a comeback. |

Oath of Eorl
Event • Skirmish
Play a companion from your hand or discard pile to have him or her replace an unbound Man in a skirmish.
"All hope was lost when, unlooked for, the Riders came out of the North and broke upon the rear of the enemy."
This card symbolizes when Eorl swore to Cirion to be a perpetual ally of Gondor. When Gondor is in trouble, Eorl and/or his descendants can come riding out of the North and save the Gondorians. |

•Oaths Sworn to Isildur
Condition • Support Area
Each companion is vitality +1 and damage +1.
At the start of the maneuver phase, place any number of tokens here. Each time your wraith wins a skirmish, remove a token from here; if you cannot spot any tokens here, add a token here instead.
At the start of the regroup phase, if you can spot a token here, wound the Ring-bearer twice and discard this condition.
Yeah, I thought this was an interesting idea, incorporating not only the concept of the wraiths’ oaths but also a sort of "oath" or "contract" by the Free Peoples player to win a certain amount of skirmishes. |

Oath of Darkness
Event • Shadow
Exert Saruman twice to take 2 minions of different cultures into hand from your discard pile.
"’...and the union of the Two Towers.’" |
Riddle 9
When I came to Abraham I let him live just a moment longer. When I came to Moses I saved his life more than once. But the salmon... I regret to say I had a hand in its death.

•The Oath of Cirion and Eorl
Condition • Support Area
Tale. To play, spot a unique Man and a unique Man.
Each time you play a Free Peoples Man, you may heal another Man.
“Cirion granted to Eorl that land to dwell in, and he swore to Cirion the Oath of Eorl, of friendship at need or at call to the Lords of Gondor.”
Heh. Great minds think alike, eh AC?
What Say You?
Event • Maneuver
Exert a companion twice (or Aragorn once) and add a threat to play a Wraith from your draw deck.
“‘I am Isildur’s heir. Fight for us, and I will hold your oaths fulfilled.’”
May post more later. |

Wow. There are some VERY good cards in here. I love some of the ideas in CG’s and NBarden’s, and AC’s only missed out because I’m not fond of the discard pile part. I’ve got to go with Menace on this one. Nice and simple, and a nifty little card too. |
