When an effect states that "you may play" it means that you choose targets, effects and etc when you play the spell, just as you normally do when you cast any spell from YOUR hand. So, if the spell summons a permanent, the permanent WILL come into play under YOUR control, yes. Be it a creature, an enchantment, a land or an artifact, it will be YOURS. However, YOU control it, but the OWNER is still your opponent, so if a card or effect "returns target permanent to its owner’s hand" (see Wipe Away or Boomerang, for instance), no matter whocast it, the permanent will be returned to your opponent’s hand. |

No its just that I see cards that say Under your control or under opponents controol and this just says in play its actually very confusing especially to me who is somewhat new to the game
Hey why haven’t you posted the umm I don’t know what to call it card based deck recently I enjoy reading that it gives me ideas on how to make decent decks |

In general, if your effect puts something into play, it’s where you want it. If your opponent gets a card from your effect, it will specify.
Not a problem. I used to ask questions far more silly than this when I was starting. And sometimes, I still get card games confused (MTG/Spoils) |
