This is my first chance on the internet in a while... but don’t worry! We’re getting internet here at the apartment soon!
•Gollum, After the Ring
Minion
Strength-7
Vitality-4
Roaming-2
Hunter 3. Gollum’s twilight cost is +X, where X is the Ring-bearer’s resistance.
Regroup: Exert Gollum twice and discard a card from hand to add a burden.
•Beregond, Soldier of the Tower
Companion • Man
Strength-5
Vitality-3
Resistance-6
Knight. While you can spot an unbound Hobbit, Beregond is resistance +1.
Regroup: If you have initiative, discard 2 cards from hand to discard a Shadow condition borne by a companion.
This Day, We Fight!
Event • Skirmish
Exert Aragorn to make a companion of a culture strength +1 for each wound on companions of that culture.
Seldom-traveled Lands
This site’s Shadow cost is +1 for each companion you spot over 4.
•Grond, From the Depths
Artifact • Support Area
To play, discard an minion.
Each time a Free Peoples condition or fortification is discarded, add an token here.
Regroup: Discard an minion and remove 2 tokens here to discard a Free Peoples condition or fortification.
(It takes some work to get started, but can really tear into support areas... I think.)
And now for some fun cards...
•Smaug, Chief Calamity
Minion • Dragon
Strength-17
Vitality-5
Roaming-7
Damage +1. Fierce. To play, spot 5 possessions.
Each time Smaug is exerted by a Free Peoples card, you may discard a card from play to make him strength +2 until the regroup phase.
Plundered Horde
Possession • Support Area
Each time a Free Peoples possession is discarded, add a token here.
Regroup: Remove a token here or discard this condition to take a possession into hand from your discard pile.
Golden Mound
Possession • Support Area
To play, spot a possession (or spot 4 Free Peoples possessions).
Skirmish: Discard any number of cards from hand to make Smaug strength +1 for each card discarded in this way. Discard this possession.
Dragon’s Fury
Event • Maneuver
Exert a Dragon to make the Free Peoples player discard 3 Free Peoples possessions. He or she may make you play 3 possessions from your draw deck to prevent this.
And I’m spent. |
Riddle 9
When I came to Abraham I let him live just a moment longer. When I came to Moses I saved his life more than once. But the salmon... I regret to say I had a hand in its death.
Who am I? |

Whoa! Why the drastic change in stats? I’d recommend this instead:
•Gollum, After the Ring
Minion
Strength-5
Vitality-4
Roaming-2
Hunter 3. Gollum’s twilight cost is +X (limit +4), where X is the Ring-bearer’s resistance.
Regroup: Exert Gollum twice and discard a card from hand to add a burden.
With the hunter 3 and the site number reduction, I think that’s more than enough.

Nice. I like him.

Wording is a little weird, but I think it’s okay. Nice card. Seems balanced to me.

I think it’s "Shadow number", unless there’s a rule change I missed.

I think you think correctly. Looks good.

Interesting spotting requirement...maybe make it possessions and artifacts, or "spot 5 possessions (or 3 artifacts)". Something like that.
I like the text and stats and all. Good stuff.

Again, maybe tie in artifacts somehow. Just a thought.

Artifacts would definately make sense here.
I don’t think this card is worth it, though. Maybe make him strength +1 for each card and +2 for each possession or minion? Don’t know if you even have any other minions in mind....

Interesting. Very interesting. I like that prevention text a lot. Nice card.
for these. They’re neat. |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |
