Hi, I’m new to the forums and was wondering if anybody can answer my question?

If I play Armor on RB Boromir, does this mean I only take 1 wound instead of having to wound him twice?

Hi,

Welcome to the forums!

As far as I can tell, if you play Armor on Boromir, Bearer of Council you will actually be forced to add 3 burdens at the start of the skirmish, since you won’t be able to take the 2 wounds.

Hope this helps!

Ac is correct, actually D released an article when reflections came our about boromir and specifically mentioned this.

SoP is correct about the article. After a bit of searching, I found the link:

Boromir Doesn’t Like Armor (yep, that’s the title of the article!)

Interesting idea. Wear the one ring to add a burden, discard O Elbereth! Gilthoniel! to take it off, and take a wound. Boromir is now steeled against wounds for the rest of the skirmish.

Armor can actually be used with the Ring of Rings to add burdens instead, but that’s kinda pointless...

Yes, that would be a good idea, but just remember, he can’t take more than 1 wound per skirmish phase. So if you wanted to use Faramir’s ability twice in the same skirmish, the Armor would prevent you from doing that.

But if would be nice to use if Faramir is going to lose his skirmish anyway so you can get the benefit from his text too.

Hmm, are you sure for that? This is not a do X or Y thing, were you have to choose a cost that cannot be prevented. This is a special ability. I think of it like can’t you play strength of spirit to prevent IB’s cost?

Of course the armor is a different thing, but doesn’t it still act as a preventer of wounds, may they be cost or effect?
