A last alliance deck!!! that scene has always been one of my favorites so I decided to do a deck about it (hard when not trying to break the rule of 5) the companions with thier Possessions should do well but there’s a great combo in here, go ahead guess! 3...2...1... OKAY times up it’s Legolas, Fearless Maksman and Glimpse of Fate! that’s right you use legolas’ abilaty to discard four cards and wound a minion, THEN, glimpse of fate kicks in and you can drop a minion 4 strength! so that’s nice, othere then that, this decks simpl, use possessions and events to beat the crap out of your opponents (and try to not let isildur get in a skirmish) other then that, Good Luck!!!

the last alliance of elves and men could be useful...also scroll of isildur to eliminate and of isildurs resistance problems... otherwise cool deck.

Spammers really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month. And yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you. Razz

Yep, The Last Alliance of Elves and Men would be great in here.

As a side not, why use Aragorn, Isildur’s Heir? He can only make Isildur or himself defender +1, and his token ability is useless in this decktype. I think Aragorn, Elessar Telcontar would fit better, but you’d have to switch around your starting fellowship.

yeah, the last alliance of elves and men is sort of the glue of a last alliance deck. even though you can go without it, you hold together better with it. i run a last alliance deck myself.

Unfortunately, Elrond has a spotting requirement, so he can’t be in your SF unless Galadriel is the Ring-bearer (or unless you use Galadriel, Lady Redeemed, who is X-ed).

I would recommend adding Elven allies like Elrond, Herald to Gil-Galad and Galadriel, Lady of the Golden Wood. Although the Galadriel is bannned in expanded format, the use of Elven allies cuts down on the number of companions you need in order spot 3 elves for the maximum bonus for The Last Alliance of Elves and Men. Note the game-text...3 elves, not 3 elven companions. These 2 allies enable the machine-gun healing strat, really good if you want to start Legolas, Greenleaf and somebody like Glorfindel, Revealed In Wrath. Arwen, Fair Elf Maiden works well too. That is, of course, if you want to go the route of using elven companions to start, which is a good idea too.

I have a Last Alliance deck running like this:

Frodo, Tired Traveler (burden removal text with Faramir, Son of Denethor)
The One Ring, Such A Weight To Carry

Legolas, Greenleaf (starting)
Arwen, Fair Elf Maiden (starting)

Aragorn, Elessar Telcontar X 3
Faramir, Son of Denethor X 3
Boromir, Son of Denethor
Gil-Galad, Elven High King

Elrond, Herald to Gil-Galad X 3
Galadriel, Lady of the Golden Wood

Shadow Between
The Tale of Gil-Galad
The Last Alliance of Elves and Men X 3

Sting, Weapon of Heritage
Sam’s Pack (kind of a random card, but can keep Frodo healthy if I use him to heal another companion with Aragorn’s text)
Asfaloth
Gwemegil
Ranger’s Sword (could be switched out for Anduril, Flame of the West...should be Anduril)
Sword of Gondor X 2
Vilya
Aiglos (can be used for any elf, but mainly for either Legolas, Greenleaf or Elrond, Herald to Gil-Galad for additional exertions)

Secret Sentinels X 3

I believe that totals to 31 cards. A smaller deck like this helps you set up your Fellowship much quicker and allows you to double move quickly. Hope this helps.

OF

A couple more suggestions about your deck. I didn’t see any condition removal or burden removal in your deck. Here are some cards you may want to try out:

Condition Removal:

Elves:

Secret Sentinels (if you want to use allies)
Seclusion
Company of Archers
Vilya (If steadfast on using Elrond, this is key. You can use Vilya, Ring of Air but you have no way of manipulating your opponent’s shadow conditions)

Burden Removal:

Tom Bombadil, The Master (no cultural reinforcement meaning he can be played with any culture. All you have to do is spot 2 burdens or 2 threats to play him. If your opponent drops a couple burdens on you, play this dude to get rid of him. This is your best best for burden removal with this decktype if you don’t want to run a Frodo as your ring-bearer. I would suggest 2 Toms to drop in.

Also, way too many events. Drop half of them right off the bat. If anything you’ll want to use something like Dagger Strike because of it’s damage bonus. You want your companions to wipe the floor with your opponent’s minions because they can get so potentially strong, thus allowing for the double move.

The build I use for Last Alliance (which is such a fun deck-type to play)

Total:34

Starting:
Frodo, Tired Traveller
The One Ring, Answer to all Riddles
Arwen, Fair Elf Maiden
Legolas, Greenleaf
Companions/Allies:
Elrond, Herald to Gil-Galad x3
Faramir, Son of Denethor x2
Aragorn, Ranger of the North
Possesions:
Hadafang
Asfaloth, Elven Steed
Ranger’s Sword
Aragorn’s Bow, Ranger’s Longbow
Ithilien Blade
Faramir’s Bow
Aiglos
Vilya
Sting, Bane of the Eight Legs
Events:
Curse their foul feet x2
Secret Sentinels x2
Final Shot x2
Last Throw
Conditions:
The Last Alliance of Elves and Men x2
Noble leaders x2
Shadow Between
The tale of gil-galad
The saga of elendil
Citadel of the stars
stone tower
the tale of the great ring

That’s an expanded format build for you.

Playing Faramir removes a burden, it can discard conditions, easily double/triple move with and survive swarms with the Frodo/swarm protection.

It nukes morc decks with curse their foul feet (and those new warg decks)

it has plenty of healing, and can shoot down the biggest minions before skirmish

Final shot and noble leaders give emergency pumping.

hadafang and secret sentinels kill conditions.

all it really needs is some possesion removal, but I can’t think of any...
