Okay, so, can you have Merry, ItBoH and Pippin, ItBoH, and use thier spotting additions to play quickbeam, bregalad for free? I never really figured it out, even in all the discussion going on about it.
Thanks. |

Remember that Merry and Pippin are NOT counting as both Hobbits and Ents, but are adding to the number of ents you can spot.
Some people on D where thinking that you could only spot them as Ents or Hobbit which is completely wrong.
They count as Hobbits and they add 1 to the # of ents you can spot.

yes so this can result in some "super-starting-fellowships" akin to IB’s starters. Nbarden’s article showed an example of this. |

So, you can use their ability to play Ent Draught but you can’t play Enraged on them or exert them to play Crack into Rubble? |

They are not Ents. They are still hobbits. They add to the number of ents they spot, so cards that spot Ents can be played, but cards that do things to Ents cannot, because there is no Ent to exert, wound, etc. You can spot it, but that’s it, because that’s all Merry and Pippin say you can do.
However, with Merry, Pippin, and Quickbeam, you could make Quickbeam strength +3 with Roused. |

Too bad. Ent Moot and Enraged would be nice for them to bear.
But yes, that makes perfect sense. Nifty ideas I hadn’t thought of before. |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |
