Suppose Smeagol is assigned to skirmish say, Easterling Captain, while another companion is skirmishing another Easterling, and the Captain uses his skirmish ability to pump that other Easterling. If I have one or more Called to Mordor out can I use them to wound a minion?
In other words, is Smeagol involved in that skirmish? |

You can only use this ability if Smeagol is skirmishing. |

So if the Captain was assigned to someone else and used his ability to pump an Easterling skirmishing Smeagol, THEN I could wound someone? |

You mean during Smeagol’s skirmish? Then yes.
It is so simple: if Smeagol is in the "active" skirmish (skirmishing---involden in a skirmish all 3 things mean the same), you can use it. If not, no. |

OK, got it. Now, one more question. Are conditions with the keyword "skirmish" considered special abilities? Or are special abilities limited to minions and companions and weapons they carry? |

Anything that has the key-word: Skirmish: (not keyword, mind you! ) is a skirmish special ability. I am not quite sure and would like someone to tell me if the events that use themselves from the discard pile are considered to be special abilities when they do so.
A "good" player claimed so, and i would like to make sure of thatif possible. For the record, i rule it is simply playing an event, and is not a special ability. |

I’m pretty sure it’s just an additional cost for the event that allows you to use it when it’s in your discard pile. I don’t have anything to back it up with right now, but I’m almost certain... |
Our time here is ending...
What did you want to see before the end?
It will be made in the Request-a-card Set #1 (name ideas also welcome ). |

The skirmish key-word isnt used in front of that game text so it is just that, game text. |

Special ability is an ability with an activation cost. For instance, if a minion has a triggered ability, like "each time this minion wins a skirmish, add a burden", and it’s skirmishing Faramir, Son of Denethor, the effect still takes place after the skirmish if theminion won, because the ability does not require an activation cost. A similar thing happens with events that are played from the discard pile. They have an ALTERNATE cost that allows them to be played once more from there, but that’s about it. Unless you consider regular events special abilities (nope, they’re not), then no, playing events from the discard pile is NOT a special ability. |
I don't like YOU. |
