Brad leaked in his Q&A thread that there’s a 40-card set releasing between TaD and TGE. He noted that it is not going to be ’product clearance’ like Reflections.

I’m guessing it’s not some kind of Anthology, because this mystery set is over two times too large (plus anthologies themselves are a sort of product clearance).

What could this set be?

Hmm, as I think about this more, I can imagine two fairly solid ideas:

1) A set ’bridging the gap’ between the movies; IE covering the path of the Ring (which would gear things up for the final block) and/or Frodo’s journey.

2) A random smattering of big names and powerful cards sold as a pure boutique product. This I see as being more likely between the two; it’s easiest to create and would maximize sales.

I suspect a Reflections II (different title) product.

Hopefully it will reprint our favorite ring-bearers.

Cool! I hope this comes out. 40 cards is a lot smaller than reflections.

Do you suppose it could be similar to the middle-earth set?
