What do you think the new Pipeweed builds would look like? I have been experimenting (sorta) with Pipeweed, so I was interested in your input.

I developed a thinning deck in expanded that relies on the pipeweed to pull out other copies of the card and then Old Toby to draw a card. Thins quite well.

Hmm.... I guess you have to use the FOTR cards to get some pipes.

True but those work around pipeweed possessions not conditions.

Here’s a decklist. Not tested, but might work.

36 cards

Isildur, Bearer of Heirlooms
The One Ring, The Ring of Rings

Merry, In The Bloom of Health
Pippin, In the Bloom of Health

Halfling Leaf x 4
Hornblower Leaf x 2
Southfarthing Leaf x 4
Southlinch Leaf x 4

Not the First Halfling x 2
G for Grand x 4

Alatar, Final Envoy x 2
Pallando, Far-Travelling One

Gandalf, Returned

Glamdring, Foe-Hammer
Hobbit Sword x 2

Momentous Gathering x 3
Fireworks x 3

Merry puts all the pipeweed back into your deck, and Momentous Gathering shuffles it as it is drawn. Momentous Gathering spots two Ents to pull out Gandalf, Returned and Not the First Halfling or G for Grand. Seeing the resistance, everyone should buff up a bit. Like, strength 9 Hobbits. Reinforce Not the First Halfling like crazy with Alatar and Gandalf. Discard the Pipeweed as needed to cancel skirmishes you can’t afford to lose, lose skirmishes you can’t win, and try to stay away from using Southfarthing Leaf that much.

Abuse Halfling Leaf and Not the First Halfling. Use Fireworks if your conditions get discarded.

Hey NBarden, why not use Long-stemmed Pipe? It’s pretty good, especially since you can grab it with Momentous Gathering.

Hm....it really only works with Gandalf cards, and the new Shire pipeweed can only use it to cancel skirmishes, I don’t think its the right pipeweed for the deck.

I just think that it would be better than Southlinch Leaf, since you would pretty much always want to use the ability of Halfling Leaf instead of Southlinch Leaf. Sure, Long-stemmed Pipe costs one more, but it has a useful condition removal ability.
