They were part of something a long time ago on the LotR Online game. I have no idea how they worked, though.
I think that their abilities could be used once per game, or something. I don’t know for sure. |

Triumph triggered semi-randomly and was seeded by the number of events played that game. The more events you play, the higher the chance of triumph activating. Menace was the same, only it was seeded by the number of twilight tokens added in the entire game. |

There’s two other follow-up articles:
http://lotronline.decipher.com/notes/triumph_menace2.shtml
http://lotronline.decipher.com/notes/triumph_menace3.shtml
Kind of funny this came up, because I rediscovered the articles by accident just this past weekend. |

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Really cool concept, though. |

Well CBB, they kinda have to stay as an online-only thing, since apparently the formula for working out Triumph and Menace would be too difficult to work out in RL. But I like some of the subtitles, and it’d be cool to have a minion called The Nazgul. |
