To play, spot 3 races in the fellowship.
Add one to the number of companions you spot.
Regroup: If you can spot more companions then minions, exert Saruman to play a minion from your discard pile at twilight cost -2.

So the companion count goes up, making you able to pull a Shotgun Enquea or a Cantea, Black Assassin. Of course, he’s tough to get into play, so he only works against rainbow decks.

1 Wary Gondor
Condition
Bearer must be a Gondor companion. Limit one per bearer.
Add one to the number of minions you spot.

And here we add to the number of minions you spot, which could trigger Brand, King of Dale, Gildor Inglorion, Of the House of Finrod, or something like that.

Yes? No? Maybe?

make the regroup ability exert him, otherwise with a decent swarm and no cultural enforcement you could pull a forced march with 2x his number of companion/ yeah I know you have to spot 3 races but still. frodo+main race+ gandalf, not unachievable.

Interesting in combination, though.

Have Isildur/Boromir ring-bearer with Wary, and Saruman as the only ones left - you can spot 2 companions and one minion, he can spot a companion and 2 minions.

What did you want to see before the end?

How about the card Gildor Inglorion and Brand needed from day 1?

While you can spot an elf and a Gandalf man, add three to the number of minions you spot.

And suddenly, everything dies.

But seriously, do you think it would work? I’m asking because I might use the concept in a future set, not because I’m serious about THESE cards.

It’s a really cool idea, but right now there aren’t many cards that deal with it.

For DC’s, a great idea. Unique and potentially powerful.

I was thinking about some of these ideas in the past, but you’ve got to be careful about adding to the number of companions you can spot as there is, firstly, a big difference between 5 and 6 companions, and secondly, if it lasts into the fellowship phase, you may be preventing the free peoples player from playing companions.
The idea in Strange Friendship is very interesting, but a bit out of context with Gildor Inglorion and Brand. It feels like a purely Gandalf or Gondor ability, and should cost more than it currently does.
Also, is there a particular reason that you put Saruman into Uruk-hai culture but then made his text universal? With an ability like the one he has, I’d make him Isengard.
I feel like Wary should also have another ability, because as it is there isn’t enough that uses a text like that to make it worth using.
But here’s a thought: if your opponent plays no minions in the shadow phase but you can spot 1 minion with Wary, does that mean you have to have to have the maneuver, archery, assignment and skirmish phases?
GP for the cool ideas.
