Free Peoples search cards, eh? I guess there’s not anything wrong with that, though in Expanded or Open play, it would add some big risk against cards like Kill Them Now, Uruk Searcher, and Uruk Seeker.
All that aside, though, I like this card, though it could use a little more cultural enforcement.

Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

It would add a little risk, but I think the benefits should make up for it. In theory you’ld know if those are going to come up (most likely), and would plan for it.
It would also affect opponent’s cards, although it would have to exert and reveal your deck (so I can’t think of any that it would affect like that) - but for those, Lucky Search would probably be better in that case.
Guards of the House
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot 3 Men (or a companion).
At the start of each regroup phase, remove all tokens from this condition.
Each time the fellowship moves to a dwelling, you may add a threat to make this condition a companion with 7 Strength, 2 Vitality and 5 resistance until the regroup phase. This card is still a condition.
Rangers of Arnor
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot 2 rangers (or 3 Men).
At the start of each regroup phase, remove all tokens from this condition.
Each time a ranger exerts, you may add and wound a ranger to make this condition a ranger companion with 7 Strength, 3 Vitality and 6 resistance until the regroup phase. This card is still a condition. |

I think the first one works, but the second one is too easy. It needs an additional cost, as you shouldn’t benefit like that when you exert. I’d also make both of these unique. |

A couple others that I had thoughts for...
•Seen No More
Condition • Support Area
Toil 2. Toil 1. To play, spot 2 Elves.
Each time the fellowship moves to a site in region 1, remove for each Elf you can spot.
Each time the fellowship moves to a site in region 2, Shadow cards may not spot Elves.
Each time the fellowship moves to a site in region 3, discard each Elf.
Key in the card is what’s needed to play it - the idea that you can exert a single elf twice to reduce its cost by 3, or 2 Elves to reduce it by 4.
•On An Adventure
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot Gandalf. Bearer must be a companion.
While you can spot another Hobbit companion, bearer may be treated as Bilbo. |

Nice idea on toil, but I just can’t see this as a very useful card, especially with that cost, even with the toil.
 •On An Adventure
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot Gandalf. Bearer must be a companion.
While you can spot another Hobbit companion, bearer may be treated as Bilbo.
That’s wierd.
If you want relations to real cards, though, this may be broken.
Give it to Frodo (or Sam) RB, then give them Consorting With Wizards.

Well, the idea was the double toil... Another example:
War-machines
Possession • Support Area
Toil 1. Toil 1. Toil 1.
When you play this possession, you may wound an minion to add 2 tokens here.
Regroup: Exert an minion to reinforce an token.
Regroup: Discard an minion to add an token here.
I’m still working on a really good example of it...
For On An Adventure, what about "bearer may be spotted and exerted as Bilbo"?
Although... I should probably change the condition to "While you can spot another Hobbit companion and cannot spot Bilbo,"
The idea being that if Bilbo was never around, the Dwarves would still have gone on the quest. Gandalf would have still visited the Shire, and a Hobbit would have still been on the quest (a little more of a stretch) - but as for who, it’s up to you. |
