Rallying Orc, Enemy Upon Enemy, Always Threatening w/ an condition-heavy deck. Lurkers were meant to be a swarm minion side, majority are low strength. Some are pretty darn good (Emboldened Orc or Horror of Harad, anyone?), most are low cost. In open or block format, Rallying Orc and Demoralized is a powerful combo. (Especially if you had Goblin Hordes to get back the orcs every turn!) Using Cave Troll of Moria, Savage Menace with Lurkers is also another strategy, especially with all the low cost 2 vitality minions. Really there’s a lot of options with the Lurker minions. |

Saruman, Agent of the Dark Lord lets his buddies that are damage +1 fight before he does, so he can boost their strength. Gollum, Skulker does the same thing, as well as Bladed Gauntlets. Some minions exert or discard themselves to prevent wounds to minions that fight before they do. |

If you mean just the keyword lurker then it depends on the deck you are running, you cant just say lurkers are good or bad. Just matters how you use certain ones in certain decks i.e. As NB points out there is a really evil deck using stragglers that uses lurkers really well. Mostly on the boards when people reference lurkers they dont just mean minions in general with lurker but the horribly evil deck that happens to take advantage of them in the culture.
The advantages generally mean that a minion the free peoples would normally kill first doesnt get killed til last as its lurking and other minions can get bonuses off it first. Rampaging easterling: If you played this guy without lurker any good freeps would kill him straight away. With lurker you cant and it means he is much more useful. |
