So I’ve decided to scrap the AVP set, since it wasn’t getting any reviews. Sad Now it brings me to want to create a LotR set that brings new concepts and ideas to all the newer cultures (and some older ones) so get ready for a LotR ride! 185 card set with each culture getting 15 cards and 5 sites. There is no lore and no rarities/set numbers, basically a collection of DCs based on the battle of Amon-hen, where Frodo left the fellowship and where the Uruks were taking the hobbits. (To isengard, to isengard, gard gard gard...) I can let you guys determine rarities on my cards if you want. First culutre I’m going to do will be Gondor. Then after that, I’ll post whichever I feel like. Smile Click on a culture icon to see a completed section. I’d also like to thank everyone who has helped me review my cards very much!

4Aragorn, Defender of the Halflings Gondor
Companion • Man
Strength: 8
Vitality: 4
Resistance: 8
Ranger.
While you can spot 2 hobbits, Aragorn is defender +1.
Skirmish: Exert Aragorn and discard a Gondor card from hand to exert a minion he is skirmishing (or wound that minion if it is an Uruk-Hai).

2 Twisting Blades Gondor
Event • Skirmish
Make a minion skirmishing a Gondor ranger strength -2. (Or -3 if that ranger is Aragorn)

1Ranger’s Sword, Defender’s Sword Gondor
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength: +2
Bearer must be Aragorn.
He is damage +1.
While Aragorn is skirmishing more than 1 minion, each minion skirmishing him is strength -1.

3Boromir, Defender of the Halflings Gondor
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 5
Ranger.
At the end of any phase, if Boromir’s resistance is 0, place him in your discard pile.
Skrimish: If Boromir is not assigned to a skirmish, discard a Shire card from hand to have Boromir replace an unbound hobbit skirmishing a minion. (Or 2 Shire cards and add a burden to have Boromir replace Frodo skirmishing a minion)

2Resiliance Gondor
Condition
Bearer must be a Gondor man.
If this card is discarded from play, remove it from the game.
Each time bearer takes a wound in the archery phase, bearer is vitality +1 until the regroup phase. (Limit +X, where X is that companion’s printed vitality)

1 Defend the Narrow Passage Gondor
Condition
Plays on a site.
Limit 1 per site.
Each Gondor companion skirmishing more than 1 minion at this site is strength +1.
Response: If a Shire companion is about to take a wound, discard this condition to prevent that.

1 Battle Focus Gondor
Event • Skirmish
Heal a Gondor man. If that man is skirmishing more than 1 minion, you may heal a Shire companion.

0 Deflection Gondor
Event • Response
If a Gondor man with a twilight cost of 3 or more is about to take a wound during the archery phase, spot a hand weapon borne by that man to prevent that.

3Blood and Valor Gondor
Condition • Support Area
To play, spot Aragorn, Boromir, or 2 Shire companions.
When you play this, add a Gondor token here.
Response: If a Shire companion is about to be overwhelmed in a skirmish, remove 5 Gondor tokens from here to prevent that. (Or 10 Gondor tokens from here if that Shire companion is the ring-bearer)
Each time Aragorn or Boromir kills a minion in a skirmish, add a Gondor token here.
Gondor tokens on this card cannot be reinforced.

1Shield of Boromir, Protective Commodity Gondor
Possession • Shield
Resistance: +1
Bearer must be a Gondor man.
If bearer is Boromir, he is strength +1 and the minion archery total is -1.

4Aragorn, Wise Opponent Gondor
Companion • Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 4
Resistance: 8
Hunter 1. Ranger.
At the start of the regroup phase, you may add 2 to reveal the top card of your draw deck. If it is a Gondor card, take it into hand. Otherwise, discard it.

2 Decapitated Gondor
Event • Response
If a skirmish involving a Gondor man was resolved with the minion skimishing that man being exhausted, discard that minion.

1Knife of the Galadhrim, Swift Response Gondor
Possession • Hand Weapon
Strength: +1
Bearer must be Aragorn.
May be borne in addition to 1 other hand weapon.
Response: If Aragorn is about to take a wound in a skirmish, discard this possession to wound a minion skimishing Aragorn. If that minion is killed, reinforce a Gondor token.

Event • Maneuver

Decent card, although I don’t like abilities much that only work against one culture alone. How about, ’Exert Aragorn and discard a Gondor card from hand to exert a minion he is skirmishing (or wound that minion if it is an Uruk-Hai). Also, maybe a standard defender +1 while spotting Frodo is a bit powerful.

Nice idea, although minus strength is more an elven thing.

Cool. Enough penalties to replace the ring-bearer, I guess.

I’d change his first ability to simply 2 Hobbits instead, and drop the Frodo part. I also like WLC’s suggested retooling of the skirmish ability.

If the limit weren’t there, then the bearer of Resiliance could take all the minion archery and everybody else would be safe. At least if I put a cap on it, it’ll give the shadow player a chance to get his archery wounds on the other companions. (If he works hard enough at it)
