Seeing the awesome article about blowing the Horn...you know the one where all the fuzz was about  ...made me realize one thing.
Back in the Return of the King days the combo Gondorian Captain (fellowship: discard a fortification to remove a threat) + Base of the Mindolluin (fellowship: if you cannot spot two threats add a threat to play a fortification from your draw deck) was in fact tournement legal...and it makes me sad  ........I always thought it broke the rule of  |

Wait, wasn’t Gondorian Captain X-listed for a short amount of time? I’m pretty sure that after Mount Doom was released, he got X-ed because of that combo, but then once Standard format used Shadows sites he became legal again.

Rule of 4 regards taking cards into hand, this played them straight out thus bypassing the rule. Silliness. |
