If one of my guys wins a skirmish while bearing a knight’s mount can I asign the wound to the minion he was skirmishing? The way I figure it, the wound doesn’t trigger until he wins the skirmish, thus the minion is no longer asigned. I could be wrong though.
In marble walls as white as milk, lined with skin as soft as silk, within the fountain crystal clear a golden apple doth appear. What am I?

The minion that just lost is still assigned, so the horse can’t wound him.
All cards do what they say.

Resolving skirmishes includes all ’each time X wins a skirmish’ abilities

First the person wins a skirmish, then the wounds are assigned to whoever lost the skirmish.

Yes, exactly. The skirmish is declared as "won", but they are "still skirmishing".
