I thought the idea of alternate Ring-Bearers was based on anybody that carried the ring, or had a shot at taking the ring therefore:
I was thinking about this and we are missing Aragorn is there anyone else? Legolas? |

Arwen would have carried it if frodo had died at ford bruinen (or whatever the name is)
Maybe Denethor if Faramir would have taken Frodo to his father as he first thought he should.
Anyone else? |

LOL.
Yeah, one I’ve considered is Arwen, for the same reason Dravius mentioned. I really couldn’t see Legolas, but MAYBE Aragorn. A good case can certainly be made for Denethor, but to be realistic, the drawback would have to be so great, no one would ever use him. |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

IMO, you really don’t need a good excuse for an ARB any more. I mean, the whole idea of an ARB makes no sense with regard to the story. Only the hobbits had any hope of bearing the Ring, and out of those only Sam and Frodo were capable, IMO.
Don’t get me wrong, the ARB concept is great, because of the way it lets you change your game. It just doesn’t jive with the story. It seems that much of LOTR has sacrificed story for great gameplay.
Tom Bombadil is another ARB we’re missing. |

Well, to be fair, there isn’t a whole lot that’s made sense for a while...
Boromir carries the Ring in a circle around middle-earth while Elendil, a Wraith and Rosie follow him? Ending up in the Shire (or worse - wandering within the Shire the whole time)? Even if it WAS Frodo... |
Our time here is ending...
What did you want to see before the end?
It will be made in the Request-a-card Set #1 (name ideas also welcome ). |

An aragorn ARB would be OP just his stats alone are great 8 strength, 4 vitality, and 8 resistance!
The "new" site path mechanic doesn’t make a ton of sense either.
Frodo and Sam can start on Mount Doom and reach site nine which could be Hobbiton Market!
I have played games like that... |
Ban the Overpowered Orcs
"Don't panic, I have paper!" - Taipan
Is that Grima, Grief Counselor? - legolamb
Bobtheorcs Uruk-Hai Dcs
Bob’s wonderful !! updated !! Trade list |

... and yet D won’t make a ARB because "it doesn’t make sense story-wise." |
Never kid about politicians. The more bizarre the joke, the more likely it is to come true. |

ARBs are cool, I’ve liked them ever since I started getting them! Sure does frustrate those shadow cards that nuke rainbow fellowships. |
In his eyes was the look of a hunted beast seeking some gap in the ring of his enemies. |
