Strategy:
Bid to go first and play either The Prancing Pony or East Wall of Rohan. I play The Prancing Pony as I hate to go to site 2 with 2 of my companions already with a wound on them. The Prancing Pony plays Aragorn, Thorongil. Most of the Free Peoples cards in the deck are geared toward manipulating threats in some way.
Frodo, Hope of Free Peoples - This Frodo was chosen for his threat removing capability
Gimli, Sprinter - I like this one better than Eager Hunter for the wounding ability and the synergy it provides with his axe.
Legolas, Of The Woodland Realm - Ultimate Bane of Hunter Minions also serves as a boost in conjunction Focus.
Aragorn, Thorongil - Very Solid companion and a very good exerting ability against various minions like a Bill Ferny or Gollum.
Gandalf, Leader of the Company - Used as a strength boost in the first two regions. Along with Shadowfax and the amount of threat removal in the deck quite a few burdens can be removed.
Forth the Three Hunters - Centerpiece of the Deck. All three abilities are very good abilities. Especially Aragorn/Gimli ability.
Shadow Side:
I use the minions as more of a cycling machine with Weapon of Opportunity and Strange Device. But the minions can hold their own against most Free Peoples Strategies. With Tracking the Prize out and 3 hunters this shadow kills big time. |
