I think a ranger ring bearer would b da bomb!
Besides, Faramir technically held the ring for a few seconds in Return of the King.
•Faramir
Bearer of Gifts
Companion • Man
Ring-bound Ranger
While Faramir is the ring bearer,
each time Faramir is assigned to
a non-roaming minion, he is exhausted.
Each time Faramir wins a skirmish,
you may exert him to wound a roaming minion.
Twilight Cost: 3
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6 (ring bearer)
Oh! and an awesome quote for the bottom would be the part where he says something like,
". . .I bring a gift. A weapon that could change the tide of the war."
idk... something like that
it was just off the top of my head
i might think of a better game text later |

Good stuff, one observation though. While minions are roaming (which could be a long time with rangers), there's no penalty for assigning him... And even after minions stop roaming, you could have Faramir skirmish multiple times and only pay the penalty once -- exhausting him has no effect if he's already exhausted.
Change "he is exhausted" to "add 5 burdens" or something equally scary, and it'd be more balanced over the course of the game. |

•Faramir
Bearer of Gifts
Companion • Man
Ring-bound Ranger
When the fellowship moves to the
next site during the regroup phase,
add (5) Each time Faramir wins a skirmish
you may exert him to wound a roaming minion.
Twilight Cost: 3
Strength: 6
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 6 (ring bearer)
This would be accurate, because rangers are supposed to be stealthy. When they move more than one site per turn, they have to fight more minons because they lose their stealth. But it still might be too good. |

How ’bout this one?
(3) Faramir
Bearer of Gifts
Companion: Man
Strength: 7
Vitality: 3
Ringed Resistance: 7
Ring-bound. Ranger.
Faramir may not take threat wounds. For each companion in the dead pile Faramir is resistance -1. Each time a companion loses a skirmish, exert two men or add a burden (two if that companion was boromir).
Lore: "Here alone in the wild I have you, and a host of men at my call. A chance for Faramir, Captain of Gondor, to show his quality."[/b] |

not too powerful with rangers
but he would be banned with enduring wraiths because threats are the weakness of that culture and your ringbearer is threat proof
you would have a situation like:
8 wraiths+ faramir with 9 threats
one dude dies
no one can take the threat wounds
= banned!!! |
