Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant/Sasaya’s Essence
Its ability is awesome, but one thing... how do you combat the mana burn? i mean... if I have 5 lands out (kept some in hand for sasaya or something) one land will add 5... but if i can only use 4 :S
Any help? (I use a green snake deck) |

Well, the easy (but inefficient) answer is to play Upwelling.
Anything with a mana-activated ability (Trophy Hunter?) might help.
Or, just splash Red, play Blaze, and end the game right there. |

For Upwelling, does it mean that if you tap 5 mana one turn, you can use it the next turn, and or the next turn, etc? Or is the only effect that it doesn’t cause mana burn. I’m understanding it as that once you tap a mana, you can use that mana that turn... next turn, 20 turns down the line. |

As far as I know, if "mana pools don’t empty at the end of phases and turns," the mana stays there until you use it. Tap out and save the mana for future use... makes cards like Autochthon Wurm seem not not totally unplayable... |

except that if you play that, you’re in extended, and thereby getting killed off pretty hard.
Sounds like the makings of an awesome casual deck, though, don’t forget shining shoal with A. Wurm, and maybe nourishing as well. Play four heartbeat of spring, and splash black for iname as one finding koko? Soudns sweet. |
