Decipher has just released an updated Current Rulings Document!
it includes...
- clarification on shadow followers
- erratum for Elven Armaments (e.g., no longer skips archery phase)
- erratum for Frenzy of Arrows (requires an  archer to play)
- Strange-Looking Men and Orcish Smith X-listed
and many, many other errata and clarifications! be sure to check it out! |

M_H or someone needs to update the standard format X, R, and errata list that’s on this site, so I can make note of it.
I’m so glad Decipher actually did something.

Well well well...wonders will never cease.  I take back the bad things I’ve said about Big D in recent months. Well, some of them, anyway. 
Here’s my running commentary as I go through it, for anyone who cares.
The errata for Elven Armament is particularly huge. More balanced? Not sure on that one yet. It’s hardly the same counter to Frenzy of Arrows it was before, but it’s okay. More balanced overall, for sure.
Gil-galad, HKotN is much weaker. Many folks will be disappointed by that one, but it was probably necessary.
Yowch on the change to Perspective. That’s much better, but many folks will scream at how much weaker it is now. Still, with the other cards that got changes, this is probably good now, since it doesn’t have to be such a powerful counter anymore.
The Faithful Stone is still very splashable (which makes my heart glad), but has a relatively easy out for the Shadow player now. Bravo, I say.
I’m not mentioning most simple fixes (like Ents Marching and Ranger of the North), but Grond deserves special attention. NOW it actually works as intended. Good stuff.
Interestingly, Whispers in the Dark still plays on followers, which I was a little surprised about. But at least now it’s culturally enforced.
I think the revision to Destroyers and Usurpers is a little harsh. Bravo for the cultural enforcement, but the other new part.... It’s just a bit much, I think.
One big problem with the revised Frenzy of Arrows... doesn’t HAVE any archers, do they?  Oops.
Gothmog is all better! Yay!
Erkenbrand’s Shield is still very powerful, but quite a bit better with the one ability’s restriction.
Sad to see Orkish Smith and Strange-looking Men X-ed, but it was necessary, I think. Good call, Big D!
My faith in Decipher’s new blood is at least somewhat restored. Bravo!  They care after all, it seems.  |

Yep, as soon as I saw it I checked and I didn’t find any archers. I guess it’s kinda like it was X-listed, except that you can still stick it in your deck if you like the picture. 
I’ll give my opinion on all the erratas in a bit.

@anautikus: There are 2 minions that add to the archery total, but neither of them have the archer keyword.

Ugh! Now my Uber-Eowyn + Merry Deck (Swordthain) doesn’t work with Cast From the Hall!
But I guess it was a change that had to be made... |
