| um which means that the creature that has been blocked by it cannot untap throughout the game..? |

It means that the creature its fighting gets 4 fungus counters. At the start of their untap phase, they lose a counter.
It can’t untap during their untap phase.
So basically, blocking a creature with this card shuts down a creature for 4 turns. |

| I deleted my previous post, because after rereading the card, it’s not Mindbender Spores that prevents creatures from untapping, the blocked creature actually gains this "ability", so even if the Spores leave the game the blocked creature won’t untap until it’s cleared of spore counters. About Phyrexian Reaper, both him and the Spores have a triggered ability that trigger at the same time, which is when Spores is declared as a blocker. Since they’re not controlled by the same player, the active player’s goes on the stack first, then then the defending player, resulting in, in order, Reaper gaining spore counters and then Spores being destroyed. However, this is just to further explain the stack. Since both abilities were already triggered, even if the spores died first, Reaper would STILL gain spore counters and not untap. |
