ok, so me and AP are playing and i have three howda’s out with at least two tokens on each of them. and the card says: at the start of the archery phase, you may discard this condition from play or remove two tokens from here to make the minion archery total +1. and i wanted to remove 2 tokens from each, but he said that i can only remove 2 tokens from 1 of the howda’s. who is right, and who is dead?

I believe you can only do it for one since it reads at the start of the archery phase. Once you remove the tokens from one of them the start of the archery phase is over. Someone else please confirm whether I’m right or not, I believe this is correct.

yeah, that’s what he said. so thats how we played it.
if that’s the case, i’m going to need to revamp my deck, because it was sort of built around massing tokens on howda’s and pumping archery out at the fellowship.
thanks |

I think you can remove 2 tokens each of your Howdahs, unless somewhere in a rulebook it says you can only perform one "at the start of the [phase]" action per phase.
Closest match I can find is regarding "at the start of each turn":
Then you complete any “at the start of each turn” (or “at the start of each of your turns”) actions. Each of these actions may be performed only once per turn.
...which implies that you can complete more than one action. Not the most solid of proofs, but if the timing issue is consistent I believe that carries over to the start of phases as well. |

....So if you replace ’turn’ with ’archery phase’ then it reads the same so you can only do it once. There is only one start of each phase/turn. Once a action is taken for that turn or phase the start of it is over. So any action that must be done at the start of something can only be done once, even if you have 2 seperate events or actions you must choose which one you do because once one action is taken the start is over and the other can’t be done. |

The correct answer is that each Howdah may be used once per archery phase. |
All cards do what they say. |

Sorry but i think you are wrong on this point.
because if you were correct, you could only transfered 1 follower each maneuver phase.
as Bid says " every card do what they say"
so you read the first Howda. then remove 2 token, freep pass ( no start archery action) then you read the secound Howda remouve 2 token......
remember that a phase or a part phase don’t end until both players pass.
also if you read carefully
Then you complete any “at the start of each turn” (or “at the start of each of your turns”) actions. Each of these actions may be performed only once per turn
in clearly use the word EACH of these action may be performed only once
so you have 3 howda each of then can performed his action once
hope i help
When i post i did not know that Bid as already post. But Bid is right |
