ok, i’m changing many lives of men to 2, and i’m bolding the defender +1.

as for gandalf, he usually only discards 2 minions, but if you can spot an orc, you can discard 3. orcs are known for playing many minions, so i think it is balanced, and adds a very little bit of swarm protection.

new cards coming soon!

ok i guess I misread the gandy’s text it does say at the start of the regroup phase so you can only do it once. The way I was reading it I thought you could pretty much exhaust Gandalf to discard as many as 9 minions if facing orcs, if not more if using a vitality pump.

ok, here is another trio of DCs!

4Landroval, Prince of Eagles Gandalf
Companion • Eagle
Strength: 6
Vitality: 4
Resistance: 8
To play, spot an Eagle.
While you can spot Gwaihir, Landroval is strength +2.
Manuever: Exert Landroval and another Eagle (or discard an Eagle from hand) to discard a condition.
"There came Gwaihir, and Landroval his brother..."

3Meneldor, Young and Swift Gandalf
Companion • Eagle
Strength: 5
Vitality: 3
Resistance: 8
While Meneldor is in your starting fellowship, he is twilight cost -2.
Maneuver: Add 2 to heal an Eagle (limit twice per phase).
"...and with him went Landroval, and Meneldor young and swift."

2 Upon the Nazgul They Bore Gandalf
Event • Assignment
Assign a minion to skirmish an Eagle.
That minion is strength -2 until the regroup phase.
If that minion is a Nazgul you may wound it, then, you may add a threat to make it lose Fierce until the end of your turn.
"Straight down upon the Nazgul they bore..."

Nice.

Okay, this is perfect. Starting with Gwaihir. And prevent exhaustion for running. Sweet.

Until the regroup phase.

gp NBarden. thanks for the quick review! i had "until the regroup phase" on my paper copy, but i forgot to copy it over to the computer d'oh!

i also like Meneldor, the only question i have about it is: is the ability balanced?

Strength 5 vitality 3? Well...it depends. Compare to Gondorian Prowler. Equivalent splashability, I think, and then better ability in Eagle decks, but costs more unless you start it.

Yeah, perfectly balanced.

I love the spotting ability. This fits into the set very well.

A perfect companion for Gwaihir

1 Upon the Nazgul They Bore Gandalf
Event • Assignment
Assign a minion to skirmish an Eagle, that minion is strength -2 until the regroup phase.
If that minion is a Nazgul you may wound it, then, you may add a threat to exert it.
"Straight down upon the Nazgul they bore..."

Would you consider switching the wound and the exert around for the Nazgul, so that you could exert first, then wound? But that might make it too powerful, as you could potentially kill a Nazgul (if it has a wound or wounds on it already) with this card. Perhaps you’ve put it this way on purpose, so that the ability doesn’t get OP. That would make sense.

I like this series, can’t wait to see more. Very Happy

i did put it that way on purpose, but, honestly, i’m not quite sure if it is the best and most balanced way for the card to be. i’ll get a couple opinions and then i might tweak it. GP for the review!
