--- description ---
Elementals look like the best bet for Lorwyn to me, so here’s a deck trying to abuse them.
--- end description ---
Mana Base:
Smokebraider x 4
Mountain x 18
Creatures:
1 mana
Flamekin Bladewhirl x 4
Flamekin Harbinger x 4
2 mana
Ashling, The Pilgrim x 2
3 mana
Incandescent Soulstroke x 4
Inner Flame Igniter x 4
Inner Flame Acolyte x 4
4 mana
Nova Chaser x 4
Changeling Berserker x 4
Artifacts:
Dolmen Gate x 2
Sorcery/Instants:
Heat Shimmer x 4
Lash Out x 4
The point is to throw out a bunch of big cheap creatures. More specifically, use Flamekin Harbinger to grab your Nova Chasers and swing for 10. Dolmen Gate means that blocking your rampaging creatures is worthless. Heat Shimmer and suddenly you’re swinging for 10 several times!
Have fun. I’m pretty sure this deck would be considered heavy aggro, correct? |

What if the hokey pokey really IS what its all about?

Correct. I’d drop some of the creatures (like Brawler) for some removal spells, Lash Out namely, since you can stack your top with a 4-drop before playing it. I like Dolmen’s Gate, but I’d usually play 2, 3 copies most, and they may be relegated to sideboard, as blocking is rarely an issue when you’re dealing 10-11. I like elementals better multicolored, gives you accessto the VERY powerful Mulldrifter and Shriekmaw, not to mention Nameless Inversion, Changeling Titan, Changeling Hero, Changeling Berserker, Crib Swap... Vivid Lands and Smokebraider can help paying for those. Also, you could have some Wort, Boggart Auntie in your sideboard, against heavy aggro or weenie decks, so you can keep recurring Nameless Inversion/Crib Swap/Changeling Hero, twarthing their gameplan. |

Eh...F_M, sorry to contradict what you said on another thread, but there is NO WAY anything can be faster than elementals. I’m swinging for 20 on turn 4 regularly in my testing. And if my Nova Chaser dies, the championed harbinger that grabbed him gets to grab another, which comes into play fast, with Heat Shimmer to boot (basically, deal 10 damage to target player).
How can Kithking be faster? Sure they’re fast, but I haven’t gotten mine swinging as fast as elementals. |

That is correct, elementals are REALLY fast. But they’re also relatively unreliable, meaning some well-spent removal can wreck their whole development, while the same is not true with kithkins, so I USUALLY consider consistency as well, when testing for speed.
Also, Nova Chaser rolls over and dies to Knight of Meadowgrain, so it’1s kithkins FTW the next time we play! |
