--- description ---
It started with an attempt to make a decent underground swarm, and expanded to an attempt to filter and get the deck going as fast as possible. The results are terrifying.

Roast a Prowler ASAP. Pippin should keep you alive long enough to get you to set up somewhat.
Grab Gorn, Anduril, and his Bow. Begin shooting. Everything from that point out is shoot, reload, and deal mass archery to everything in sight.
Shadow:
Scurrying Goblin x 4
Orkish Lackey x 4
Denizen of Moria x 4
Skulking Goblin x 4
Orkish Sneak x 2
Denizen of Khazad-Dum x 4

Well...since the Smith got banned, we have to resort to option two, Watchful Orc.
Basically, strew the path with undergrounds, grab minions back, and drop them whenever possible. The FP filters/cycles tolerably well, so you should be hitting hard consistently. Frenzied Orc is my personal favorite. Break the rule of 5, and suddenly all your companions are pretty puny. But wait, there’s more. Combo!
Nothing better than hitting a 9 comp fellowship with 4 of these. Strength -8 on all your comps, easy overwhelm. |

Shadowplay/Unheeded is just begging for Rohirrim Guard! Maybe Hardy Garrison, too:
Discard/draw with Smallburrow to lose/gain initiative - wound minion
Discard with Guard to lose initiative - wound minion
Bounce Pippin to gain initiative
Discard with Guard to lose initiative - wound minion
Plus the way Aragorn is going at it with his bow is enough to make Enquea blush.
Since Hardy Garrison needs to spot two companions, though, and the Guard is another, if you do that the Elven bit might have to be dropped for room. Maybe it’d look like this, while keeping your crazy ’Gorn setup intact:
FP
Frodo, Hope of Free Peoples
The Ring of Doom
Gandalf, Leader of Men
Gondorian Prowler
Pippin, Wearer of Black and Silver
Comps:
Aragorn, Driven by Need
Faramir, Captain of Ithilien (heals Aragorn)
Ranger of Osgiliath (sort of random, but exhaust + Garrison/Unheeded could be useful)
Rohirrim Guard x2
Artifacts/Possessions:
Anduril, Sword that Was Broken
Aragorn’s Bow, Ranger’s Longbow
Sting, Elven Long-Knife x 3
Followers:
The Gaffer, Master Gardener
Robin Smallburrow, Shirrif Cock-Robin x 2
Daddy Twofoot, Next-Door Neighbor
Conditions:
Shadowplay x 4
Home and Hearth x 3
A Light in His Mind
Brooding on Tomorrow x2
Hardy Garrison x2
Events:
Saved from the Fire x 4
Unheeded x 3
---
Man, Saved on a Guard to grab Lady of Ithilien and her gear would be cool, too, but I couldn’t find the room. Oh well. |

You simply MUST find a way to squeeze a few copies of Nine-fingered Frodo and the Ring of Doom in there. Exert Pippin (or Frodo, if need be) to remove threats (or burdens if really necessary), then return him to hand to dish out wounds and replay him fully healed later. I’ve never understood why people don’t use NfFatRoD more with threat-adding cards, especially with Hobbits that leave and enter play over and over. It just seems tailor-made for WoBaS and Merry, Swordthain. |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Nine Fingered Frodo is to weak. One time event, while in THIS deck you could just back some Faith in Friendship to get double the effect without hand clog. Because Frodo is already ripping threats apart anyway. But, the fact is, the deck can’t be made any bigger.
And Daddy Twofoot is to busy grabbing Unheeded already.
ES, I like lose initiative decks. I have one. But...not this deck. Bleah. They’re so complicated that they blow your brain trying to remember how to play it right.
Also, I don’t want the deck that much bigger. |

No excuse! *LOL*
Actually it seems like I miscounted and I’m short a couple cards to bump it back to your original size. Your deck has pretty much everything set up already so the lose initiative stuff has a minimal footprint.
No problem though wanting to leave those things behind. |
