The art of bringing tiny creatures to a colossal size.
--- end description ---
Okay, I just came across this sweet card and needed to build a deck around it.
Juniper Order Ranger.
I think the strategy is called weenie...but they’re not weenie for long.
Mana Base:
Vivid Grove x 4
Vivid Meadow x 4
Plains x 6
Forest x 6
Creatures:
Juniper Order Ranger x 4
1-drops
Llanowar Elves x 4
Birds of Paradise x 4
Boreal Druid x 4
Essence Warden x 4
Tundra Wolves x 4
Suntail Hawk x 4
Soul Warden x 4
Enchantments:
Ashling’s Prerogative x 2
Wild Pair x 2
Militia’s Pride x 4
The point is to drop a Juniper Order Ranger out as soon as possible and run a bunch of 1 drops. As they hit the table, they get powered up by the ranger.
With Ashling’s Prerogative choosing odd, they get haste, and start hitting fast, powered up. Wild Pair = more fun, and Militia’s Pride means that you can start hitting even harder.
This deck should be pretty fast. |

Tested the deck. Its sweet. All that life-gain + Militia’s Pride = wow.
Other than Wrath and teching against it, this deck would be impossible to beat. Life-gain w/ Militia’s Pride + nice, big mana base = ouch.
Oh yeah. Pyroclasm = OUCH! |

I beg to differ, but from where I stand, a single counterspell well-played leaves you with a bunch of wimps and nothing else. Also, Shriekmaw, Final Revels, Evacuation, etc... All seem to beat the deck as well, so I think it’s far from unbeatable. |

Manlands?
Oh, F_M, I found that even without the Ranger, my little wimps can still fight pretty well. Life-gain and heavy aggro....yeah, Wrath might hurt. I’m thinking of splashing a little Black so I can Extirpate a Wrath or Damnation. |

You could run Extirpate off of your Vivids.
And manlands are lands that can become creatures. Spawning Pool, for example, is the one. They’re all in Tenth, I think. Though I don’t really think, upon reflection, that they’d count for the Ranger’s come-into-play ability.
But it’s always nice to have a few extra creatures available for the aftermath (or after-Wrath, should I say?) of something nasty. |

The TS totems serve the same purpose, as well, with Phyrexian Totem being a pretty sweet one. |
