OK, I also changed the layout to be (what I think is) more visually appealing. Each card and its picture are now side-by-side. Let me know what you all think. |

Saves on scrolling.
Though at my 1024 x 768 resolution, the very bottom of the card and search box are still cut off. Might I suggest moving the search box and title to the text column, and (VERY minor) putting the arrows closer to the search box so they’re grouped together?
Either way, my hat’s off to you. |

I’d like to keep the title and arrows at the top of the screen if possible, but I moved the search box and slightly compacted the rest of the page. On my screen it all just fits into 1024x768 -- works for you? Also, I realized that all of the sites were rotated incorrect (my mistake, I have two versions of each) so I made them all horizontal for easier reading. |

http://kralik.110mb.com is now nonexistent! Yay! http://lotrtcgdb.com now points to my own paid hosting which has the following advantages:
-I have full control of the domain, and the ability to use PHP/CGI/MySQL/etc.
-You can embed image links in posts, etc. if you want to and they will display
-The site is much faster as far as I can tell (do you notice a difference?)
Along with the following disadvantage:
-10GB of monthly bandwidth instead of 300GB. So go easy on me So far the average has been about 1-2 GB a week on the old site.
This paves the way for me to program a custom, full-featured search engine. What would you all like to see? Presumably all the features of CC’s Advanced Search... anything else after that?
Also, I may start having the pages generated on-the-fly from a MySQL database instead of using html and rebuilding at home... Rest assured that the image naming scheme would be identical. |

Something close to the advanced search on this website would be great because I still got a few more levels on that old riddle game..... |

Programming something like this (http://www.swccgpc.com/wiki) would obviously be a group project, but it would be a huge step in making deckbuilding easier. And of course I’ll be talking to the guy who developed that other program I showed you as well to see if it can be adapted.
Let me know if I can be of any help. |
When we do it in Iraq, it's called progress. When we do it here in the US, it's called socialism.

I just noticed you have the April Fool’s Day Faramir in there. That’s great.

Another update! I split the pages into separate indexes for each set, with a grand index for all of the sets. The front page is no longer > 400KB. And there have been a lot of minor visual improvements, such as unique dots and alternating shading of rows in the card lists. The navigation should be fairly self-explanatory... clicking on the up arrow will take you back to a card’s specific set... clicking on the card image will take you back to the front page.
EDIT: You might need to refresh the front page to see the changes. |
