Made several tweaks according to recommendations. Let me know how they are now.
Sometime between now and tomorrow, I plan on updating ALL my current DC threads (four total, I believe) with new cards, as well as creating a new DC-related thread. I’m nuts, I know. Since this thread was the most recently (and consistently) updated, I’ll probably save it for last. But we’ll see. |
Best regards, Dáin, Vice Aftokrator of the Chosen Ones
Check out Lasting Alliances, The Road Ahead, and Ages of Middle-earth, three of my five dream card sets that make up Wars of the Ring. Oh, and I have a trade list now!
Also, if you're into DCs or RPGs (or even if you're not!), check out Realms of Middle-earth, the sequel to CG's "DC Adventure", Realms of the North! |

Cheeze, how do you have time for all that? |

I don’t. Which is why some of them have gone without new cards for days or weeks on end. |

Well, so much for saving this until last today! I’m having trouble generating ideas for some of my other threads, but I realized that in THIS thread, I hadn’t done Idrial’s armor yet! So here we go....
Golden Armor of the Wood
Possession • Armor
Bearer must be an Elf.
The minion archery total is -1.
Each minion skirmishing bearer is strength -1 and loses all strength bonuses from weapons.
Designed by Lothlórien crafters, this distinctive armor was worn by some of their finest warriors in times of battle.
The connection between this armor from The Third Age and the armor worn by Haldir in the film version of The Two Towers is rather obvious, so I figured I’d just make the connection more distinct.
Steel Armor of the Second Age
Possession • Armor
Strength +1
Bearer must be an companion.
Each minion skirmishing bearer loses all strength and damage bonuses from possessions and artifacts.
Elven armor worn during the War of the Last Alliance was built with interlacing lames that made for very tough yet flexible defense.
Here, once again, I took Idrial’s TTA armor and went back to its obvious roots: the armor worn by the Elven warriors during the Last Alliances of Elves and Men, as depicted in the film version of The Fellowship of the Ring. Too much for one suit of armor, though? Too good for Elves? |

Elves like high cost high effect cards, so I suggest rather than cutting abilities, raise their costs.

Hmmm. I’m reluctant to raise the costs any higher than , so I moved the archery nerfing to the first one and raised its cost to . How are they each now?
In the meantime, here’s one more card...and no, it’s not a possession or artifact, which I imagine you’re probably sick of for now. It is related to them, though. Enjoy!
Elven Waystation
Condition • Site
To play, spot 2 Elves.
When the fellowship moves to or from this site, you may heal a companion.
The twilight cost of each possession and artifact played at this site is -1.
“‘Weapons...provisions! The Elves are very resourceful.’” |

If an opponent controls this site, discard this condition.

If someone controls it, then you won’t be at it, so its text is irrelevant. I’m not sure why that bit is necessary - flavourful yes, but has no actual effect. I think I’d remove it or make a minor universal ability to replace one of those above.
On a side note, it could be a ’Condition • Site’.
Nice stuff, though.
Oh and armours are good as well.
